We would be supporting the LSU head football coach and you numb skulls would be bitching and crying over every little thing. There would be the same inane and ignorant people second guessing him and wanting him fired after every loss and/or victory by fewer points than you wanted.

I guess you missed my point... The guy had a dream and wanted a chance to coach in the NFL... He got his wish and failed...

I didn't miss your point, I just don't give a frick about his "dream."

I don't know the guy, never met him. Don't care to meet him. You probably don't know him any better than I do. How do you know his "dream" was to be a NFL coach? Perhaps the whole reason for him leaving was for more money and complete control of the football operations where ever he was employed.

What I'm saying is strictly my opinion and nothing more. If the mother fricker was happy, why the hell would he leave Baton Rough without letting the athletic department know about it with more notice to get their ducks lined up in a row? Why didn't he recruit better his last year at LSU instead of only having a dozen or so recruits lined up?

He left, got his arse handed to him in the professional ranks, and came running back to the college game. It's just LSU and its fans bad luck that he ended up at alabama. And remember dukke v, this is only MY opinion.

Saban certainly wanted the NFL gig. But he also wanted out of Louisiana and was frustrated in 2004. A lot of the stories about him mistreating folks at LSU came from that year. Note his marital issues and his innuendos about LSU fan base not being to handle success and how it was never going to be the same post 2003. All just excuses except for the personal issue part.

He wanted at LSU what he has now at Bama - COMPLETE GOD LIKE CONTROL!! Over there he has no Skip Bertman to check him when needed like he did back when he was our coach. And imagine him trying to work with Alleva!

Bama politics are to his liking. THEY WOULD HIRE SATAN IF IT MEANT WINNING NATTIES!!! LSU, like most institutions, would never give him the deal that Bama gave him. Can only think of OSU, FSU, Auburn (but they lack resources compared to Bama) or USCw as the other schools that would come closest to what he has in T-Town. Yeah it had more to do than just money. Shaq did not look at all sides of the equation when making his statement.

Maybe because he was flirting with the NFL every year he coached at LSU and many of the years he coached at Mich St. He never took the deal because he wasn't being offered enough control. He's on the record saying so.

Skip knew before Thanksgiving. He already had a list of potential coaches to interview by the time Nick officially announced.

Recruiting is a passion based business, so if he knew he was leaving, he wouldn't have had the heart to do it.

It was never about the money, and it was never about Baton Rouge. It was about the offer of complete control that Miami gave him. He didn't think he could turn it down.

I'd argue that Saban's final season at LSU was worse than the 2015 season that almost got Les Miles fired.

Alabama will always get the brakes as long the SEC office's are there. They're to close to the SEC offices & to many Alabamas fans work in that office ! ! !

That part doesn't, but being called Alabama is fighting words to me, Broheem.
