Agreed. And considering his age I don't believe he will last much longer. He will sooner or later say "frick it" and move on.

people have said this for years now.

His dad demanded the same perfection and hard work from him that he demands from his programs. The parallel was uncanny. I suggest you give that episode a watch. The older I get the more I really hear those deep life lessons my dad instilled in my at a young age start to come out as I mature.

my father was the same way. i am also driven in my professional pursuits like that as well as in my sports coaching i do with my teams. it gets in your blood. either you have it or you do not.

Only 67? There's no "only" in front of 67.
And no he won't be coaching much longer because bama is in a decline and he knows it.

Meds.

Ever seen a bright productive professional get sideways with their meds?

That's what it looks like to me.

Just sayin'

What is his fricking problem?

He is worried...he just lost his big time QB that was bringing them to the playoffs this year...now he has maybe two games to rely on a backup and when Tua comes back he wont be 100%

He comes off as such an unpleasant and miserable person. I really long for the day people get sick of coaching and playing for him.

I agree with this, but Saban still whines too much for my liking.

He is feeling the pressure. Saban is a perfectionist. The loss of a recruits like Arik Gilbert, injuries, the rise of rival teams, the slow development of restlessness with Bama fans and the noise from social media. He is smart enough to realize that it is extremely difficult to stay on top and he has seen parts of his brick wall start to lose some bricks. He has seen some of the luster come off of Kirby Smart and Dabo Sweeney and understands the world of college football. He had his mind set that Tua would win the Heisman and that is why you saw Tua in games when Bama was up by three touchdowns. All these things weigh on him and he realizes that if Bama does not make the final four selection, the noise will increase about his age and effectiveness as the greatest coach of all time. Nick is no fool, but he realizes that most fans are and they expect things to remain the same. Things have not gone his way(injuries, weak schedule and young players) and that frustrates him.

He can't negatively recruit LSU any more. How does he tell offensive recruits that LSU won't develop or utilize your skills with this offense?

He looked physically drained and in poor health in that video. Like he was in the middle of chemo treatment or something. This is not said in gest. Dude looked bad.

It's probably part of the reason that he has had so much success. I doubt that most highly successful CEOs are the bubbly personality types.

He just lost a potential Heisman trophy winner to injury for the LSU game. That would be like if we had lost Burrow for Bama game or he wasn’t 100 percent.

He is always enraged by reporters questions. He has these blowups numerous times every year. He is trying to communicate to his players. Many coaches do this but he is one of the best at it.

I got no problem with Saban. Type of coach I would have liked to play for. With that being said, I hope we rip them a new one this year! Geaux Tigggassss!

He despises local media and treats them like crap because he knows they can’t really help him. He is always nice and gracious to the national media because they can push his program beyond Tuscaloosa Alabama.
