Given his regression, one of the most puzzling things is who his father is. An NFL QB coach. He’s bound to have talked to Dad. Add to that, the Manning Passing Academy…he and Arch Manning roommates and close friends. Arch has progressed all season.

Don't know if we will ever get the whole truth on what happened this season, but the issue now is if he gets drafted, will he make an NFL team and if so, will he show something that was absent from this season.

Wouldn’t the truth trickle out during interviews by teams before the draft.

I don’t know who convinced him he could improve his draft stock after last season but LSU should hire that guy to negotiate the contract of their next coach.

I don’t think it’s any mystery-

1 he was never really as good as we were lead to believe
2 the offensive line was terrible.
3 his injuries were possibly worse than we thought, (or at least had more effect than we were told)
4. Coaching and play calling was bad.

No OL
No WR's that run clean crisp routes
No running game.
Injured

He can't block for himself.
No WR's run post routes over the middle, but even if they did the OL cant protect him to let the routes develop.
We have WR's and TE'S playing RB.

I was arguing he should still be the QB.

I have no idea what happened, but I thought he would overtake Tom Hodson for the most career passing yards at LSU.

To do that now, he would have to average 100+ more yards than he has had in any one game this season (354.25 ypg). That's assumes he plays in any bowl.

Just unbelievable.

Usually with an Online issue, you reduce the drop back to 3 steps and include some rollout

Nuss should be able to be effective that way

But he’s not

Sloan was the problem to me. That’s when he started to regress.

I think the O line was the biggest downfall, which to give BK credit, he said was the biggest weakness going into the season when asked.
But I never imagined it would be that bad

Was is it his injury? I don’t buy that one as much

Was it that he got lazy? I could see a 22 year old getting over 2 million and not working as hard
I understand the OL being an issue, but it goes beyond that.

Nussmeier used to show plenty of velocity in his passes. He might make bad decisions or just miss someone, but he could zip the ball.
I haven't see that this year. He has had some good games against scrub teams, but even then I didn't see him just unleash a rocket. Not like he did prior to this season. Even when he gets time, he throws ducks if it's downfield. We all commented in the in-game A&M threads, the first time Van Buren came in and threw the ball to Green downfield, that was the hardest thrown ball we've seen this season.

Something is physically wrong with him, in my opinion. He can't throw like he used to.

To me that’s obvious and can’t understand why anyone is making any other arguments.

Why a staff leave in a QB that is obviously physically limited is beyond me. Only thing I can think of is pressure from people who are paying him to play him otherwise they turn off the $ train. I would like to think college sports isn’t there, but damn.

You had a back up with SEC stating experience.

The only other thing I see in common with all of them is they all got paid a lot of money. They got comfortable.

You can include Beck. Comfortable and distracted.

You had it right in the beginning of your post....the offensive line. Enough said. Look at the result of a bad offensive line.....no running game (see where we rank rushing the ball) and a QB either on his backside looking at the stars or running for his life). Nuss is a pocket passer and can pass from a run if it part of the play BUT not if he is running from defenders. See sacks, and hurries.

I don't think injury or lazy could make him that stiff in the pocket...

He is hurt more than they are saying. It will come out after the season and your respect for him will go up then.

The reason they are forced to play him is because they do not have confidence in the backup to be an every down QB.

That is why losing the kid from Michigan was so vital.
