Forgive them for feeling the game will be CLOSE and that a non penalty called or bogus penalty called on us could potential cost us the game..

I think LSU fans have a reason to have their doubts in the officiating here. It HAS happened before.

My hope is that the game isn't even close and we blow them out.. but I certainly understand why fans are concerned about the officiating. There are legit reasons for this.

Someone's bullshite opinion saying the refs call a fair game, or 7 cameras recording every play.

I'll go with the cameras.

Judgement call? LOL. The db threw the wr down in front of the ref while the ball was in the fricking air.

You got a letter of apology from the SEC. What more did you want?

And y'all can bitch till the end of time about that PP call, but you know damn well there isn't any video showing him with complete possession of the ball in bounds.

LOL. Delusional. I'd say the same thing too if I knew my team had to cheat to beat LSU's second team offense. What a joke you are.

Funny that blatant pass interference is a "judgement call" but a call on a bang bang play on the edge of the sideline is "the worst call in the history of college football".

Funny that LSU fans will acknowledge this call happened, the SEC apologizes, and yet, you are still complaining.

I love delusional Bama and Auburn fans. I really do. Great entertainment.

Fine. The refs don't hate LSU, they just love Bama.

Posted by vortex... The SEC refs are fair when it comes to LSU vs Alabama. Don't get me wrong, the PP was debatable, but I think they got it right.

Wow... I don't think any of you actually understood what this poster was trying to say. Go back and look at the pictures he posted.

there has been a trend for bias, not once, but several times over, this is cause for suspicion. we'll see what happens this year

Auburn 06 was worse than anything else. But that just kills the conspiracy theory.

I actually know the answer to this question, which is why I love threads like these so much!

No, I'm not sharing.

My best advice to everyone (LSU fans) here: Remember that CFB is entertainment. Not real life. Sort of like Santa Claus.

Later!

And Auburn, then Florida. In that order.

Everyone else has to fend for themselves.

Thems the breaks when you got the "pull".

If you all SERIOUSLY think that the best league in the nation is "on the take" and will put refs on a field to intentionally "throw" a game that the WHOLE WORLD will be watching . . .
Maybe. Maybe not.

Auburn 2006 stands in stark contrast to your assumptions.
That many bad calls do not "just happen". Likewise, the league wouldn't need to be involved other than to merely tolerate possible corruption.

Citing 2006, that is EXACTLY what the league did.
Not only were officials undisciplined, not only were there no apologies, the league had the unmitigated gall to threaten Miles/LSU if public complaints were registered. In short by comparison to the Pac10 in similar circumstance the SEC response was pathetic.

Are SEC officials placing wagers on games they're calling? Have they in the past? Who knows. Could they be? Yep. Could they essentially shave points based on those bets? It would seem so.

Not to say it will happen.
In fact, my gut instinct is to agree with the OP premise. This is too highly visible a scenario for shenanigans. But to discount the possibility wholecloth is to ignore history.

You people make us look STOOOOOPID. Get all of this conspiracy crap out of your heads and just look forward to a great game. NOBODY is going to cheat LSU. I promise.

While I agree it gets blown out of proportion and I'll reserve judgment until there actually is a questionable call in the game, there's no denying that we have had some terrible calls when playing in the state of Alabama that cost us a shot at winning games. I'm not saying it's guaranteed to happen, but the fact that this "best league in the nation" as you put it has the absolute worst officials in the nation worries me a bit.

It would be a mistake ot call this an "LSU problem" or complaint. The view that Alabama, Auburn and Fla get favored is held by others thru out the conference.
And in recent years, that favoritism has arguably resulted in more TV revenue to the SEC. That latter point is not coincidental.
Last time I looked Ala and Fla(and LSU, when ranked in the top 1 or two) were considered better TV draws than Ark, Ole Miss, State or Sakerlina.

I may be "stooooopid", but I do remember watching the Alabama-LSU game one year on TV. I think Saban was our coach at the time. There was a change of possession that went in LSU's favor, but the referees were giving Alabama the ball. The game was in Death Valley and the players had to get the ref's to watch the replay on the screens to reverse their call. The operator of the jumbo screens kept replaying the play so the refs would see how stupid their call was.

I believe that is the first time a call was ever reversed by the replay.****True Story*****

So what does all of that have to do with what might or might not happen next Saturday?

Their isn't a conspiracy, they're ust naturally biased and morons. Two all too common characteristics of people from Alabama.

I see that you are full of both shite and empty promises. You don't have a fricking clue whether the refs will cheat or not. Referees in many sports, including professional basketball, have gone to jail for being on the take. Your assumption that the SEC is somehow magically immune from this is as empty as your promise that it won't happen. And anybody who watched the 2009 SEC football season and doesn't think SEC refs cheat is just fricking blind, stupid or both.

What are these "many sports" that referees have gone to jail for "being on the take"? It's a real question, I'm honestly curious as I can't seem to find anything online and your post makes it sound like it's rather common knowledge. We all know about the NBA Ref, and I think there has been some stuff with soccer overseas (don't really think that counts) but who are the others?

TIA

And that was a judgment call that wasnt in the final 6 minutes if the game with a team trailing by less than a TD.

A blatantly missed judgement call. The ball was in the air with receiver and defender in the endzone and the LSU D grabbed the Bama wide receiver, threw him to the ground, could have called a fair catch for the ball, and returned it to midfield.

That play was in the 3rd quarter of a game that Bama led by 4 at the time. They would have had 1st and goal at the 2 and a likely TD that would have given them an 11 point lead. Don't give me this BS trying to diminish the screw job.

As for the PP interception, was a total screw up and fiasco on the part of the refs. Definitely a pick. However, both missed calls cost the team they went against dearly in each game.
