Serious football question. Do we stack the box against MSU?

Nick Fitzgerald has been gashing defenses with his mobility all career long. More rushing yards as a QB than Tim Tebow. Do we stack the box and dare him to throw?

Yes you stack the box.

Fitz ran wild on Auburn but was stifled by Florida and Kentucky. Hopefully we are more Grantham/Stoops and less Steele.

Given that their QB couldn't hit the side of a barn with a pass if he were locked inside it, stacking against the run seems the prudent thing to do.

If we can take away their ground game, then we win. Fitzgerald hasn't shown the ability to consistently throw the ball well. If we can render Moo State's offense one-dimensional, I like our chances.

Of course we will. He's the worst passer in the SEC and we have the best DBs in the SEC.

I stack #9 with one job...become Fitzgerald’s wallet!!!!

I’m confident he will accomplish this

I understand the concept of stacking the box but doesn’t Fitzgerald get his yardage running outside ?

Having Phillips back will be huge too. Not having him probably cost us the UF game. Having him or Chaisson back would’ve helped tremendously.

Not sure about stacking the box, but my guess is Phillips and White will be doing very little is pass coverage this game.

I doubt we stack the box more than once or twice.

State has three wide almost every down, and they go empty or with one back a whole lot.

Kentucky shut them down their rushing game just fine with base D and 34 spying on Fitz. They threw a few blitzes at them that made Fitzgerald really inaccurate.

I dont see us stacking the box, nor should we. If we dont give up the big play, we win.

Correct, one of them will not be doing anything but watching one man. I hope it is White, he is the best linebacker at tracking down folks in space in the country.

Yes. You have got to make him throw and throw more.

You don't have to every play. Mix between that and a spy on Fitzgerald.

Single safety deep (best cover safety) and stack the box. Keep delpit around the linebackers and LOS.

It's SOP to make a visiting QB beat you with arm (think what Bama did in '15). He may have some success but eventually he'll make some mistakes (ints).

My guess is Aranda will try and stop State being more base. If that's isn't working I think he'll 'over' commit to stopping the run.
