I frequently encounter poor or non-functioning HD channel. The analog counterpart seems to work fine. Does anyone have issues with SECN reception in HD?
I am a Cox subscriber in Baton Rouge, with a Motorola receiver.

this has pissed me off so badly this season that I have quit watching games that don't come on TV...no longer interested in fighting with the streaming bullshite...
Same here. I just find something else to do. Love LSU baseball but tired of the bullshite. If they did pay per view on TV, I would buy it. Sick of streaming. I didn't watch any of the games this weekend. frick it.

I have Cox in BR with the Cisco receiver for a couple of years and have had very very few problems; however, my brother lives a few miles from me, has cox and has consistently had problems for years. He has had the Cox people out to his place a number of times. They've even completely re-run all of the lines (inside and out) but nothing has seemed to work.
He did just get a letter a few weeks ago saying that the receiver he is using has gotten a lot of complaints (from all cox customers, not just from him) and that they will replace them if the customers bring them into a local store. So, maybe it was/is his (and your's too) receiver.
Cox, being the evil bastards they are, refused to have a service team come out and replace them. They told him bring it in or he'll have to pay a service/installation charge for them to come out and do it. Total BS if you ask me.

Agree, if the channel is there, they need to put more games on the tv channel
It's not an actual channel. My assumption is ESPN has an agreement to pay the cable companies on a prorated basis when they have to use that channel. Something that isn't economical for a baseball game with 20,000 viewers. But is for a football game with 450,000.

Who is your ISP?
Cox New Orleans is frickin awful, and there's nothing you can do about it. It works only when it wants to.

You cannot use Internet Explorer for watching these games.
I used to have similar problems and switched to Google Chrome.....those problems went away.

Telecast was fine over watch ESPN this weekend. I will agree about the repetitive commercials but I have a mute button.

Today I was streaming LSU baseball and LSU softball on my computer side by side and it seemed like both games would always cut off about 5 minutes after I got it setup. Is there some restriction on streaming two different things at one time on the WatchESPN app? I searched and couldn't find it, but I assumed that is what it is.
As far as the streaming quality goes. I had a Cisco modem/router and had a ton of issues with streaming, then I upgraded to the ARRIS/Motorola Surfboard modem/router combo (my internet research said this is basically the best I can get without spending a TON of money) and it has been much much better since then. That being said, the Tulane game was awful on Tuesday and I had some problems today with the feed cutting out at various times. I am not sure if this is Cox issue or an SEC network issue.
I don't complain at all about these minor issues because I grew up loving LSU baseball and knowing I couldn't ever watch them on tv, then we got a few games a year, and then we had to sit through awful camera angles and shoddy service through Geaux Zone (and that was only guaranteed for home games). Now, we get to watch almost every LSU game (with the exception of the games on CST due to my directv subscription). This is so awesome that if they have some feed problems every now and then I just overlook it and cut on my radio or watch the great Liquid Rabbit type out play by play old school style (well, not quite old school, since old school would be logging on and seeing a GMorgan in game thread)

I have Cox internet at 100 Mbps and the Tulane game and today's game towards the end were terrible. Kept trying to reload, I'd have to go back and click on the game again. I like being able to watch all the games but it sucks when it doesn't work right.

I have good internet, and early in the season the games streamed well. Lately, though, the constant buffering has made me quit watching. I tried yesterday and said frick it, then was so disgusted that I didn't even try to watch today.

Well the alternate channels still need a camera crew, announcers, commentators, production crew etc. to physically go to the location. Looking at it from SEC channel perspective, they must not make enough money from advertising to justify it.

Something no one has mentioned yet is the quality of the app. The Android app chokes a bit and freezes on my S7. My Xbox One app appears to be flawless. I usually use the browser (I use Edge in Windows 10 on my Surface) as the Windows app is very buggy.
Also, what you pay for (50 Mbps) may not be what you get. Use speedtest.net or similar to guage actual download speed. I have 45Mbps Uverse and get 35-38 Mbps regularly. I have had no Xbox app issues, but a few Android app issues. If you are also casting (miracast or similar) simultaneously, you are asking a low end processor and WiFi chipset to process two feeds (ESPN in, miracast out).
Just food for thought...

Talk about your first world problems. Maybe you should seek help?
except "first world problems" are revenue drains for large companies. So if this guy decides it's not worth his trouble to watch anymore, then the company loses money. So sure, it sounds like bitching, but that's also how things improve and companies satisfy customers.

Why do they use sec+ instead of using the alternate sec channel. It's seems to me that it's always off air. Except during football season.

I have literally had no issues with WatchESPN in 2 years other than the fact that the commercials repeat and play at a high volume. Fix your shite.
