LSU is trying to solidify the number one overall seed. 0-2 may drop them to 2 or 3.
Either way, it's not a huge deal. I think the team wants to win the tourney to etch themselves into the history books of all time LSU teams.

They would need still need other teams to stumble that are projected to host right now.

I could see Arkansas putting themselves into the hosting discussion if they win this thing. We probably wouldn't have been a national seed last year without winning the SEC tournament, it can count for a lot.

And FWIW they finished higher in the standings then Vandy did last year and Vandy was last one out for nat'l seed
