I've been amazed at Mainieri's extreme success in this tourney regardless of the regular season.

I saw him talking about that the other day and he said it's because once the SECT starts, the grind of the regular season is over, classes are done and the team is loose and can focus on just playing ball. I hope that state of mind carries over into the NCAA Tourney this year.

looking at the field I think we get paired up with one of these 3 regionals

Charleston
Oklahoma State
Missouri State

UCLA will get paired with the other west host.
Right now there are two texas hosts and two texas top 8 seeds. They get paired up with each other.
two SEC teams won't get paired with US.

Arkansas will most likely be the 2 Seed in Missouri State.

Just repeating what he said. I guess LSU playing loose >>> the rest of the SEC playing loose.

Not exactly... we already know we're a national seed regardless of what happens in Hoover. Other teams still have some pressure to play well and improve their position, such as A&M who still has to play their way into a national seed. Then there are teams like Bama, who have to win the whole thing to make a regional. Different amounts of pressure.

yep

all but Arkansas and LSU every team have something to play for.

Vandy Florida and Texas A&M playing for top 8 seeds

Bama playing for tournament bid they must win the auto bid to make it.

Missouri and Auburn trying to help their case they are on the bubble. (note: I think Auburn is a lock now.)

Yeah, we came in to this thing as one of the few teams (along with Ole Miss and Arkansas) with very little on the line. CPM still takes this tournament pretty seriously, so we should do pretty well regardless.
