Ushered college baseball into the mainstream. I always thought we had a little to do with it.

Even if Mississippi State was winning games in the early 80s no one outside of Starkville gave a crap about college baseball until LSU started rolling in the 90s.

Ron Polk started marketing the idea that college baseball could be big in the southeast and this conference. Skip Bertman then took that idea to another level. Polk just couldn’t win like Skip

MSU definitely was the seed. Give them credit.

Not gonna lie, I liked me some Will the Thrill in the late 80s with the Giants.

Those uniforms are fire, too

I like Will Clark as a player but he's a grade A jerk as a person.

Saw an SUV cruising through BR a few years ago with a SF Giant’s sticker and a personalized “Thril22” license plate. He must miss the limelight something awful.

Will Clark is the best college baseball player I’ve ever seen and Mississippi State baseball was huge in the early/mid 80’s.

Give them their due.

Not sure if they were the ‘start’ of the SEC dominance of NCAA baseball, but they certainly have a decent claim to it.

You saw a 10 character license plate?
He must miss the limelight as much as you like making up stories that never happened.

But you didn’t answer my question. You saw a 10 character license plate? (Those don’t exist).

State and Ron Polk definitely preceded us. I think their '84 team had Palmeiro, Clark. Jeff Brantley, Bobby Thigpen, and a CF named Van Cleave.

One of the big but lesser known series wins at the start of Skip's era was winning 2 of 3 vs State at the Box in '85 I think.

It said “Thrill22”. Believe it or not. Now you run off and get a life.

that’s more believable(as some states do allow 8 character vanity plates), but that’s not what you said in your first post. So since you misrepresented yourself initially, I’m less inclined to believe you now.

College baseball still isn’t mainstream.

I love it but let’s be real here.

I was there. First LSU baseball games I ever went to. Saturday doubleheader, we get waxed 7-0 by Jeff Brantley. Clark hit one that almost landed on top of the PMAC.

But we won game 2 of the DH then won the single game Sunday. That series legit put us on the map.
