Oh how I would love the Gumps to be shut out with one loss. The fast pass they’ve been given multiple times is pure bullshite.

After struggling against NC, I don’t see an undefeated Clemson getting in ahead of a 1-loss LSU or Bama - provided the Nov 9th game is a close one.

Well you better get your eyes checked cause if Clemson wins out they are 100000000000% IN! like it or not!

I have said it before and I'll say it again. Bookmark this. If LSU's only loss is to an undefeated Bama, LSU is in. Book it.

I don't know who is getting left out in that scenario, but I would lean towards it being OU.

A 1 loss LSU team that only lost to BAMA, on the road, will get in over any other 1 loss team in the country
not if that other 1-loss team is a conference champ.

And even if we could get in with 1-loss and not winning the West (which we won't) it depends on our loss. If we lose again hugely to Bama, the chances are absolute zero. If we lose a very tight game, there's a sliver of a chance.

But barring a series of disasters, the four P5 conf champs are getting in (not the Pac 12)

If we beat everyone on our schedule and win the SEC, we should not need to see their asses again. They won’t deserve it.

there's virtually zero chance that'll happen. Even if it could, it depends on the loss. If we lose again 29-0, there's zero chance. It would have to be an even game.

But again, a 1-loss LSU, that didn't win the West, isn't getting in over a 1-loss P5 champ. Just not happening.

Not if OU is an undefeated Big 12 champ...that kinda stuff possibly could happen for bama but it aint hapening for LSU

While I love a good Bama conspiracy as much as the next guy. If you look at 2017. Wisconsin was ranked ahead of them going into the B1G CG. If they had won that they would have been in, even with their awful schedule that year.

I think a one loss SEC West runner up (us or Bama) has a chance to get in over a weaker undefeated team. Clemson, for example.

Nearly every media pundit disagrees with you including all of the media here in OKC where I live. They are all convinced that, due to not playing any highly ranked teams this year, they [OU] are not getting in without some help--i.e. some major upsets among the unbeaten. The committee has to rank the teams top to bottom based on wins & losses, resumes, and can consider championships. Still, there job is to rank. If LSU's ONLY loss is to Bama on the road, and it's a decent showing, LSU will be ranked ahead of OU in the final poll. Book it.

If OU is undefeated they will be in the playoffs. If the OKC media think other wise, they are entitled to their opinion but there is nothing to base it on. The Big XII is easily the #3 P5 conference a 1 loss Big XII champ will be in

At this point it would appear likely OU and Clemson will win the rest of their games so they would be in.

Ohio St is looking strong but they always seem to blow one game. I'm not so sure Penn St or Wisconsin can go undefeated.

The SEC champion will almost surely get in even with one loss.

I don't think the SEC would get a second team in over a one-loss Big 10 champion. Of course it's a mute point if OU, Clemson and the Big 10 champ are undefeated.

Clemson for sure. OU has a good chance but they’ve doinked a game before. They could lose a game and still get in as long as it’s not the CC. 12-1 Big XII Champ OU is almost certainly in.

A 1 loss B1G champ is definitely in.

A 1 loss PAC 12 could get in, but would need some help.

Based on what? Their two and a half ranked teams?

It's called math. there are 5 P5 conferences, the SEC and B1G are clearly 1 and 2 this year. The ACC is pretty much Clemson and garbage. That leaves the Pac 12 and the Big XII. Both have 3 ranked teams, OU looks much better than anyone in the Pac 12 so, i would say that makes the Big XII #3.

If you are asking based on what as far as a 1 loss Big XII Champ definitely making the playoff, the only time a 1 loss team did not make the playoff was 2014, when all 5 P5 conference champs plus TCU all had 1 loss. If that scenario repeats, my guess is the Pac 12 gets left out.

Big XII will finish the season with the fewest ranked teams

Alabama is (presumably) out; their best win would be over either 8-4 Texas A&M or 8-4 Auburn.

Never ever ever presume that Bama is out of the playoff

It’s really a bummer that UNC couldn’t finish Clemson. Would’ve made things more interesting.
