SEC likely only gets 1 team in the playoff this year...
I don't see OU losing (Undefeated Big 12 Champ), either tOSU or Wisc will win out (Undefeated B1G champ), Clemson will run through their JV schedule (Undefeated ACC champ)! If this plays out, LSU prpetty has to win out for a shot at the NC this year! Again (God forbid) this season you could have bama back in even if we beat them in Nov.

Imagine if LSU beats bama in OT and UF stumbles against USCe or Mizzou but beats UGA...you'd have a 2-loss UF in atlanta against an undefeated LSU. God forbid but imagine UF winning that game, then the committee has to decide between a 2-loss SEC champion UF, a 1-loss SEC runner up LSU, and a 1-loss bama...I would love to think that the committee would do the right thing and value LSU over bama in that spot but I have ABSOLUTELY ZERO faith that they would!

I say all that to say this...

Depends, if they decide to go with THE BEST 4 TEAMS. Then you will get more than 1 SEC team in.

ZERO chance that ANY 1-loss SEC non-champ gets in over an undefeated power 5 conference champ!

correct. And I think even a 1-loss Big 12 and Big Ten champ get in over a 1-loss SEC non-champ.

Clemson, Big Ten champ, Big 12 champ (if it's Oklahoma), and the SEC champ. Barring disaster, that's what it looks like to me.

or 1 loss conf champ.

I'm not sure why people complicate this as much as they do. The ONLY reason we had the wonky situation in '17 with 2 sec teams getting in is becuse ohio state had 2 losses, one of which was the most embrassing loss of the year by 30 to a mediocre iowa.

No 1-loss non champ sec team is getting in over a 1-loss acc/big 10/big 12 champion. It simply isn't happening.

I feel liek it is going to be hard to argue a 1 loss SEC team is better than an Undefeated Ohio St/Wisconsin, Clemson, or OU.

Realistically you can't leave an undefeated P5 Conference champ out for a one loss team who didn't win their conference.

bama will have the best victory; they will have beaten themselves

re: SEC likely only gets 1 team in the playoff this year...
I was thinking about this very subject this morning, specifically with regard to the potential of a rematch with Florida in the SEC Championship.

Say LSU and Florida meet again, this time in Atlanta. What that means is a few things:

1)LSU is likely undefeated
2) Florida has defeated Georgia

So the SEC standings likely look like:

LSU 12-0 (8-0)
Florida 11-1 (7-1)
Alabama 11-1 (7-1)
Georgia 10-2 (6-2)

Texas A&M 8-4 (5-3)
Auburn 8-4 (4-4)

No one else really matters here.

Georgia is out, being a 2 loss team, and not even making the conference title game.

Alabama is (presumably) out; their best win would be over either 8-4 Texas A&M or 8-4 Auburn.

So it comes down to a what if: WHAT IF Florida beats LSU in the rematch? Florida is obviously in as the SEC Champion, but would LSU have a strong enough resume to get in over a one loss Oklahoma or Ohio State, should one of them lose?

I think so.

Oklahoma: OK St, Baylor, and Probably UT again.

OSU: Wis, Michigan, Penn st, and probably Wis again.

Wis: OSU, Iowa, and probably OSU again.

My point being it is a LONG football season and we have seen crazier things happen..

A 1 loss LSU team that only lost to BAMA, on the road, will get in over any other 1 loss team in the country now that the SEC East team has at least 1 loss now.

I think a one loss SEC West runner up (us or Bama) has a chance to get in over a weaker undefeated team. Clemson, for example.

ZERO chance...especially with Clemson, you can't penalize the sitting National Champion for going undefeated!

way too early to worry about this. Last week we thought the east would have an undefeated UGA team. Happens every year.

Good point. They are still out of the question though. 2 losses ain't cutting it.

I’ll make this easy for y’all who haven’t figured it out yet.

LSU and rest of SEC: must win conference and have no more than 1 loss to qualify for playoffs.

Alabama: Ehhh... eyeball test. They in.
