Yes. It's single elimination and I believe the format is the same as basketball: the top four seeds will get a double bye. Which means, if LSU finishes in the top 4, they won't play until Thursday or Friday.
I'm curious to see what this does to the attendance. Do you want to make that trip knowing you may only see your team play once? It will keep people away.

Would the championship be included as a session?
Yes, there are a total of 8 sessions, with 2 games per session except the Sunday championship session is just 1 game.

Dumbass format now. Not sure it’s worth going tbh
It's worth it if you like baseball. If you're only interested in seeing your team play, then maybe not.

If you know you're going to multiple games, buy a Dr Pepper 6-Pack. If not, you can walk up and pay at ticket window on a game by game basis. Get there early if you want to sit in the shade. I've sat in the reserved section for years (in the sun) and never gotten moved. But big games, the reserved section will fill.
Plenty restaurants on the main drag (John Hawkins Pkwy) and around the Galleria. Make sure to go to the Finley Center next door, Plenty kids games, food, drinks, and live music in the A/C.
Hotels are not an issue at all. Nothing is walking distance. I'm a Hilton guy. We've stayed at Hampton Inn Colonnade or Homewood Suites Riverchase for cheap many years. We'll check out and if LSU wins, book for another night.

If LSU is in the late game, sleep in. Be prepared for 1-2 games after midnight.

The hotter it gets, the better the sweet tea they serve tastes

Tourney format has changed. There are only two games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which should eliminate midnight baseball.

The Hoover local volunteers have traffic flow and parking management down to a science.

Tournament is really fun - highly recommended. Great baseball & very friendly atmosphere. Hoover really embraces the tournament. Good food & plenty of hotels within 15 minutes of stadium. Tickets are easy - walk up and buy at box office. Brock’s Gap Brewery is across the parking lot - great beer & food trucks. Nice indoor SEC Fan experience next door to stadium is great for the kids.

Tigers would start on Friday if 2 seed or 3 seed. So you could pitch it like a regular weekend.

Whereas the previous format of "single elimination for a day, then double elimination for a few days, then single elimination at the end" was brilliant?
There is no good way to have a 16 team baseball tournament that you are trying to cram into 6 days.

Yeah it’s called you don’t let 16 teams make It
