It’s always convenient how you leave out ‘09 in your arguments.

you are wrong. way wrong

How many titles does O’Sullivan have?
this always cracks me up. pm defenders get hot under the collar that "he can't be expected to win it all every year." but then they criticize kos for not winning it enough.

I remember both of them being criticized for underachieving which i never thought was fair.
pm - fair point. kos - laughable

absolutely laughable. since 2010, the absolute best cws resume and no one is close

And only 1 NC.

Underperforming.

i address this EVERY YEAR. a nc from a decade ago is the only refuge for pm defenders. you could argue that including '09 doesn't even get pm into the top 5 over a DECADE

my question is always the same - why are some people ok with that?

my hope is that this team makes it to the championship series which would cement pm as being as good as anybody not named kos. he hasn't been perfect but i think if he is able to accomplish that, he would deserve to have that accolade. if he wins it all this year, i would say you could argue he's as good as kos.

stupidest argument ever. again, "pm can't be expected to win it every year" yet, kos 'sucks' because he's only won it all once in 7 appearances over the last 9 years.

you people

Why did you start in 2010? Why not start in 2008 when O’Sullivan became head coach at Florida?

Could it be because Mainieri coached LSU to the CWS both those years, winning it all in 2009, while Florida didn’t make it past the regional in 2008 and lost in a super-regional in 2009 thus making LSU’s CWS record under Mainieri on the same level with O’Sullivan’s Florida teams? Hmmmm.....??

Yeah, him cherry picking the stats leaving out 08 and 09 is laughable

Is it? Florida 2011 had 9 players who played in the MLB. Let me say that again, 9 fricking major leaguers and couldn’t win it all. Sorry that is underachieving no matter how you slice it.

Last year India, Kowar, and Singer were all first round picks. Dyson was also in that rotation and he will be a top 3 round pick this year.

O’Sullivan absolutely 100% has underachieved in Omaha.

If LSU was 4-8 in conference and had just given up 40 runs to Ole Miss, this place would be a toxic wasteland. Oh wait, it already is.. meanwhile in Florida, their fans probably don’t even know they are 4-8.

We have hitters, it's the philosophy & making really good pitchers work that's an issue.

We definitely need to cut down our number of times striking out, 116 times....fourth worst in the SEC in conference games.

We are third in OBP and 1 big inning from being first in RBI's. We are also 4th in plate appearances.
Why is this statistic the one we focus on. If these stats are not effected by the strikeouts then it is not an issue.

And they are? Honest question. Apparently you like statistical work, I don't, but enjoy the labors of those who do. If not for that the Tigers would've at least gone to extra innings in the first game.

It is apparent that you do in fact not like statistical work. Here you reference us winning the first game if we score two more runs in the second game.
You suck at math.

Why didn't you go back one more year or make it an even 10 years?
Didn't fit your agenda?

Maineri's record at LSU: 568–236–3 (.706) SEC record: 216–145–3 (.598)
O'sullivan's record at FU:518–242 SEC record: 215–125

So what exactly the frick are you talking about?

Thanks for the thread but you’re weak for putting coaching politics into it.

CPM has 4 surprise returning players -“he’s the greatest coach of all time”.

Florida has a rebuilding year “LOL at people who thought O Sullivan was good”.

You’re better than this. Fact is, you’re a super fan and are supporting the coach who recognizes you. I dont Want CPM fired, I just dream about the day he retires and we bring in a new energy. LSU baseball is my favorite sport and favorite team, this is the first year I havent watched every game. Usually i watch every pitch.

Then you probably missed some good baseball.

The truth is there’s been a lot of excitement, a lot of drama and some pretty good stories about this team.

I see them improving. Who know the outcome, but things are beginning to heat up.

Yet you and some others were tearing down CPM last season when he lost more guys than Florida did this year and had a better season than Florida has had so far this year

Nice troll job. Who gives a shite how many games you win in the CWS if you don't come home with a championship which PM has done more than half of those coaches.
