Baseball doesn't need permanent opponents, especially if you're getting rid of divisions.

Teams that value the rivalry of their permanent opponents in baseball can easily schedule mid-week "non-conference" games.

I agree and would rather see LSU play more SEC teams than the Samfords of the world.

30 games is a good number. 36 would be really tough imho. Leaves you only one weekend or two to get ready and it would make the Shriners-type tournaments tough to schedule.

Yeah I don’t see why they can’t just rotate the entire schedule each year since they are going to one big single division format anyway. No need for permanent opponents in baseball

Could have kept it 10 series with 5 rotating in/out every year. Would have been much more consistent year over year.

A lot of good coaches aren’t easy to work for. They are typically very head strong and controlling.

I agree. With 16 teams, I would prefer see 5 home, 5 road, 5 off-- that way every team plays every team at home and on the road every 3 years (the typical standard college baseball career). Plus, for teams off the schedule that want to play, baseball is easy for those teams to play a midweek game(s)/even a pre-conference series that don't count toward the standings. Ole Miss and Mississippi State, for example, could play as many times as they like if not on each other's 10 series rotation every 3rd year...

Lots of better options than trying to do a permanent.

SEC really trying to force this whole rivalry thing

Birmingham seems to think LSU and A&M are big rivals.

I’m genuinely curious those that believe or repeat these statements why do you believe A&M is a forced rivalry? My assumption is that you didn’t follow LSU football or sports before the 1990’s and aren’t aware of our history with them.

Do you realize that of the Big 6 only FL and AL have played LSU more times than A&M in football? We’ve played A&M almost as many times as we’ve played TN and GA combined.

In my opinion A&M is probably LSU’s most natural rivalry in the SEC when you consider factors outside of such as proximity of schools, military history, geography of alumni, and the amount of alumni each school has in local industries such oil & gas and petrochemical.

This makes too much sense for it to be the solution.

I'm guessing take the football permanents and it will be two of those
I was kind of hoping they would add more SEC series with more teams involved

I guess it's because of recent history, but the only team that stands out to me as a good rivalry that I always look forward to is Arkansas. MS State & Ole Miss are next in line to me.

Should do 5 series with permanent opponents, and rotate other 10 teams every year or 2 (home and then away).
