People saying they were in the game bc they are adding "would be" points really aggravates me. It is a pet peeve. We were letting them slowly move down the field and use up clock in order to preserve the win, so if you use their philosophy then you can subtract that seven points from their final score.

Agreed.

LSU played like shite and still won. I'm not in meltdown mode yet.

It was also about 3 plays from being a 42-13 type LSU win.

I would expect nothing less from UW fans or area. IT IS their home team after all. Do we talk about how great florida was after they trouce us last year? no, We talk about the woulda, coulda, shoulda and if we get a few more breaks here and there.

Lots of What's IF.

In my opinion the guy did nothing wrong.

they had a pick 6 , fumble going in for a touchdown, missed field goal..
That is where they are saying they had a chance

Correct

And now many false starts did the refs let the right guard get away with on the final drive?

We did the same thing.

Exactly, that's a wash. We had a 2 TD lead with 1:09 left, come on people. I was there and actually was happy about the win. It was a VERY tough environment to play in, and I think it will benefit us down the line to have been challenged.

I agree, there was a lot of shoulda coulda woulda when I was watching the live broadcast of the show, its then when I posted the thread. We made countless mistakes and have a lot to improve on. Jefferson needs more experience but there was a lot to like after watching it on tv by several players on both sides of the ball. The defense will look better when we play a team we have game tape on and more practice time.

If Cutrera doesn't make a great play on that stupid throw by Locker in the 1st quarter, we would have been down 14-3 and the whole game would have been different.
UW was very much in the game

The INT happened at the 20 yard line. So, you are just going to guarantee that UW was going to go the remaining 80 yards of the field in score? This is why these types of arguments are stupid.

The "what if game" is played by the losing team, but only those who play count the "what ifs" in their own favor and ignore any possible "what ifs" that favor the other side. (As in what if the refs hadn't gotten the pass interference call wrong in end zone?) What one doesn't know is how LSU would have changed the play calling in a different set of circumstances. LSU could have opened up the play book more if needed, but it never needed to do so.

Please don't take what Dave "Softy" Mahler and his callers say as the pulse of Husky fans. The man is an idiot. Pure and simple.

We made some big mistakes, had we not made those mistakes, we could've had a shot at the end. But there are mistakes in every game, casual fans like Softy only notice the big ones, not the countless times LSU's left defensive end lost containment on his side, or their linebackers over pursued, or the normally solid tackling LSU defense struggled, or the refs missing the Husky right tackle pulling out early the entire game(I don't have blinders on, I noticed this).

It is pretty clear they simply do not understand that we didn't play well.

ake away LSU's pick six, UW fumble near the goal line, and the missed fg. UW wins by at least 7 possibly 10.

Take away all of UW's touchdowns and we win by 100, possibly 1000.

A lot of what is said on the radio and the internet is stupidity and doesn't represent most fans, whether at UW or LSU. Both teams had their share of mistakes. I think Washington will be a much improved team this year. Good luck to the Huskies for the rest of the season. I think all of us here in the SEC would like to see some competition for USC and there really isn't any good reason why there shouldn't be.
