Enervated old man attempts to justify his own decision to abandon his season tickets by projecting his forlorn geriatric outlook onto the population at large.

Was Tiger Stadium full in 2019, when LSU was undefeated? Yes. Will it be full again if the new coach consistently competes for national titles? Yes.

TS may never return to the glory of the 2000s because people overall have become lazy and apathetic and easily distracted, but hiring a new coach is still rational economically.

I’m 28.

Have been to at least one home game every year since I was 5 with the exception of last year.

I don’t have a desire to go anymore. LSU admin tried to kill tailgating. Its a hassle to get in and out of campus. The seats are meant for normal sized people, but everyone in the stadium is 40 pounds overweight. Not to mention most of the year, the weather is miserable.

I’d much prefer basketball games. Controlled environment, drive right on in with no traffic. Plus a little more seat room.

I’d rather sit on my couch with unlimited alcohol and slap something on the blackstone than trek through campus for a football game.

One day they will put fake people in the stands and pipe in crowd noise and oh wait ??????

Seriously it will be like that but more realistic and we can sit at home watching our 100" TVs but it will be PPV All the stadiums will be demolished and it will be a thing of the past ??

All of this, and I would add that the two-week notice on what time the game will start creates an uncertainty that hurts attendance and planning.

Yes, that is a fact.

None of this explains the people who actually do show up but then leave at halftime during a 1 score game against a conference opponent

It made no sense last night. We had a couple in our section leave in the first quarter.

They are selling the expensive stuff. It is the nosebleed seats that are empty.

A lot of folks but upper deck tickets and sit in the lower bowl

I don't know how old you are but I'm almost 50 and I've seen more ebbs and flows in fan interest/attendance in my lifetime than the stock market. I just don't buy into the freakout blanket idea that football fan interest is a thing of the past. You give the fanbase a reason to be jacked and show up every Saturday, they will come. Plain and simple. Look at Georgia, look at Alabama, look at Ohio State. None of those fanbases are saying these things. LSU fans are freaking out because we're in a shitty period right now and a lot of folks don't know how to process it so it's all "doom and gloom". frick that. It's only temporary.

Like I said (which was downvoted) - it's not some complex equation. Winning cures all.

I don't know how old you are but I remember half full Tiger Stadium in the late 80's/early 90's. The stadium last night was nowhere near where I've seen it. And it's bounced back when the right guy was coach to damn near at capacity and busting at the seams.

As far as keeping fans there for 4 quarters, that's a completely different topic.

LSU has a 100k seat stadium that it can’t fill up

Not because it is overbuilt.

But because LSU is a woke, SJW clan that has destroyed everything glorious about LSU football.

The neutered the band, made tail gating harder, honored the career criminal George Floyd, plastered BLM terrorist logos all over every athletic venue, bought in to the China Virus hoax with the ridiculous mask/vaccine BS.

Woodward didn't start it with the band/tailgating problems but he has all but finished it off with his left wing political antics.

I agree. But also we have all gotten too damn busy. Work cell phone rings all day. No time to plan set up or tailgate. Throw in all the bull we have going on with kids and such and we just decide to watch on the tv.

In times gone by the game was the entire weekend.

LSU’s capacity needs to go back to 78,000. Tickets are too easy to find. Too much supply reduces demand.

Whatever it takes to make you feel better about Tiger Stadium being a quarter full after halftime of a tied SEC game.

Maybe a lot of people just buy tickets to impress the girl. Leave at halftime to get laid in their tiger gear, and then watch the rest of the game on TV.

I tailgate in the FREE old golf course. shite is free, close to stadium. And is empty as fucck. Don't even see company tailgates no more. 2019 you could still park in there around 2pm for a night game. Been doing this 20 plus years, it will never return to mid 2000's level

I got basketball season tickets for the same reason. Takes 2 hours from my house to the pmac. If I take my nephew and daughter, just pick up another ticket.
