2003 team was the best in my lifetime.
2011 team was the most talented.

However, you are forgetting how good our talent was in 07, and especially 03
No, I'm not. The talent is 2007 was nowhere near the talent level of 2011, and 2003 had much less depth. I've already stated all of this.

Our defense in 03 was just as good as 11
The difference here is special teams, and 11 wins that all day over 03.

offense of 07 was light years ahead of 11
yes it was, but the defense was nothing special that year. They were good, but not great.

2011
2003
2006
2007
2001
And I think 2003 and 2006 split 5/5 in a ten games series.

2011 was a QB and a OC away from being the best College Football Team of ALL Time.

2011 is best by a long shot.
explain to me how 2011 would score on 2003. I guess Tyrann could go all Tyrann, but I fail to see what the offense could do. absolutely nothing passing, and they could TRY the whole wear em down running approach, but 03 wouldn't have any of that either. especially considering that with 11's passing issues you're essentially letting Laron freelance in the box.
those 2 playing each other would be a lot like the first Bama game in 2011.

1908...they had a professional player on the payroll...allegedly.

2011 and it ain't close. That's one of the best teams ever in college football.
Imagine that team with Mett, they'd be unstoppable

Yeah. How in the hell is the 2001 team rated in our top 5? I doubt I would make it top 10. It was an ordinary team that got hot late, lucked into the SECCG, and then pulled a great upset. I mean, I love that team, but the 1987 team was far, far better.
And 2005 being unranked kills me. Had it not been for two devastating hurricanes, that team runs the table. See what they did when they finally got a week to rest and destroyed Miami? They unmade that program.
Oh, and anyone who doesn't think the 2011 team is not our best team ever is wrong. They were a win away from being considered the greatest college football team of all time.

Then was the Alabama team THE best team ever? "one of the best teams ever" shouldn't get shutout in the NC game.

No, they shouldn't have gotten shut out. They choked. Life sucks sometimes.
The Patriots lost to the Giants, too. Upsets happen. and that Bama team was pretty great in its own right.

1969 cannot be left out of that list. Was a awesome team. Won the SEC that year and beat Bama

Nope. A scheduling quirk cost us a share -- unless you meant the 1970 team, which was an awesome team, won the SEC and beat Alabama.
The 1969 team was 4-1 in SEC play and Tennessee was 5-1. Through the 1968season the SEC mandated that at least 6 conference games must be played which often required "appointed conference games." In fact in '68 LSU only played 4 true SEC teams. TCU and Tulane were counted as SEC games.
Both LSU and Tennessee lost to Ole Miss in Jackson. LSU lost 26-23 while Tennessee was destroyed, 38-0.
