I would say the jury is still out for most of them but Mulkey just went as far in the tournament as any WBB HC before her.

I’ve said it a million times on here. He could hire 10 basketball coaches and not a single one could even win a single game and as long as the football coaching hire is successful, his seat will never even be remotely warm. Basketball is an irrelevant sport when it comes to the hiring and firing of an AD at LSU. No AD will ever be fired at LSU because the basketball team sucks. FACT!

Still irrelevant when it comes to the hiring and firing of the AD at LSU. Football is the ONLY program that determines if the AD is fired. If you think an AD will be fired because the basketball team sucks when the football team is successful, you’re a fricking idiot.

I agree that we got three very good coaches, but I give SW very limited credit. LSU is the premiere program in college baseball. It's the best job in the sport. If you come up with a list of the five best coaches in their 40s, LSU could have gotten four of them, I'd bet.
The same thing goes for football, though we don't quite have as much cache as we do in baseball. Still, we are a top five destination in football.
For WBB, if Mulkey wanted to come back home, it's easy to sign her.
SW did a competent job of executing these hires, and he avoided an unforced error, like hiring Curley Hallman. Against that, I put his foolish contract extension to a clueless Ed Orgeron. I understand that he had to do something, but he should have made the contract heavily contingent on performance.

Just checked out the 2023 recruiting rankings and LSU prospect list. I would have to agree that it would be shocking if we are any good next season
ETA: That being said, anyone knocking Brian Kelly, Kim Mulkey, or Jay Johnson as bad hires are very dumb
