it
It's true though.

sounds intensely retarded to say that some guy who hasn't lived in the state for awhile is more politically connected than the fricking governor.

You’re aware Scott Woodward, a man who worked in the Louisiana Legislature and man who has maintained a lot of his previous political connections, would not have made this public if he didn’t already know the results of making it public? Some of you guys can’t read a room full of people. Some of you people think votes actually happen in the moment instead of months or years in advance.
You never ask for a vote unless you know you have the votes. And you don’t announce something like that unless you already know what the reaction from the people who count will be.

LSU athletics may not directly contribute funds to the university any more, but Woodward doesn’t want that to result in a lack of revenue. He just feels it will be healthier if that revenue to come from other avenues.

It's the right decision to stop this practice.
I don't think anyone had a problem with it when it came during budget cut times from the state but I agree, it's not sustainable.
It's up to the state of LA to fund the state university adequately.
As far as Bob Mann goes, the university has a department in place to vacuum his office instead of having to use a dirt devil. That was such a misguided quote from him.

Say good bye to argument to non-fans that LSU Athletics helps the academic side. LSU Athletics helps only LSU Athletics as of now.
That is absolutely not at all what this says. It says LSU athletics isn’t writing a one time check to the academic side. They will help out in case by case projects. It’s accountability in knowing what your money is actually going to. LSU Athletics will always support the Academic side and that will never change.

I mean, the Governor and legislature can easily take away any tax breaks that TAF gets and make it a straight business.
No they can't.
It's a federally registered 501(c)(3). The governor and the legislature can get mad and stomp their feet about this decision, and then politely go frick themselves.

If you want to see an increase in school academic funds, have the football team start winning titles. Just ask BAMA.
Football needs all the money it can get. Hopefully some of it is added to the recruiting budget.

That takes big balls because no doubt hes gonna be hit with extreme outrage. But truthfully this is the right thing to do, LSU is the states university, state officials need to get their heads out their asses and figure out financing to support the university.

And God forbid LSU academia will be forced to cut their spending...however will they go on?

Sucks to suck.
I couldn’t care less about LSU’s budgetary problems. It is their own fault with the help of corrupt legislators.
As our esteemed head coach says,
frick dem.

Man, I don't think you could have interpreted what he said more incorrectly.
Honest question, do you think the money given to the university is spent efficiently?

i don't know, but neither do you most likely.

They will still donate and he even said so. But the university has essentially been budgeting for it annually which is wrong.
Posted on 7/29/19 at 1:07 pm to ProjectP2294
The university doesn’t use the money effectively anyway. Yearly increases in tuition, building stuff that isn’t a necessity meanwhile the library is legitimately crumbling and departments are being slashed and burned. Let Alexander try to figure out his own way to salvage his job. Woodward is a beast.
