ESPN's Scott Van Pelt, "Stanford" Steve question if LSU's Derek Stingley Jr. is actually injured: LINK /

Didn’t he have lisfranc surgery and was heard saying “I can’t walk” when being carted off the practice field?
Our fanbase has drug him through the damn mud despite him playing hurt repeatedly. Jesus we are the most insecure fanbase in terms of in house concerns I’ve ever seen.

I like SVP but he's just going with the crowd at this point. All the criticism of Orgeron is deserved, but this is only going to get worse until he's gone. It's the cool thing now to pile on Orgeron and LSU.
It's a big job with big expectations.. going to get a lot of talking heads weighing in on it.

He isn't... Lavar Ball cleared that up when he threatened to opt out on Jordy's show if LSU fans didn't tighten up.

Not related to the program at all other than as an alumnus and as a fan. Certain players have quit, LF7, Chase, Marshall Jr., but I am struggling to find/remember many others.

It’s not a fake injury, he is injured IMO
But my guess is it’s an injury that could have been managed and played through if necessary with surgery coming after the season. I doubt surgery was urgently required TODAY. But he made the decision to fix it now and start the recovery process early, and I can understand the thinking.

He definitely reads this board and see morons say it here and probably think they aren't just morons and have insight.
But if Stingley is "healthy enough" for the last few games I doubt he's rushing back.

Wasn’t it confirmed he had an account here? Didn’t he have a Maryland logo?

I could be completely wrong, but I'd guess if we were undefeated right now and in contention, both Stingley and Ricks would be playing.

Great point. Seems like this could be misplaced criticism of Orgeron.

Most people who play a little hurt don’t have to remind everyone about it via their dad on the radio constantly. But he has been hurt more than not. He is done here so I guess he just never lived up to the hype. Had a great freshman season but hasn’t done anything since due to injuries and sitting out for his best interest. I don’t blame him but he isn’t too 10 on my list.
All these injuries have gotta make me worry about his longevity in the NFL if I’m a GM.

I think it was before my time here, but maybe some of the real old timers remember. I know he at least lurks on here.

Chris Landry said on his podcast that it’s an injury he possibly could have played through and wasn’t 100% positive on needing surgery right away.
Basically, if this was a playoff team he could have played through and had a surgery after the season and still been ready for NFL but because of the way this season is going they elected to have surgery now and be ready for draft season. It was the right business decision with Ed “one of us” Orgeron as coach.
