I agree

If SVP is bringing it up then you know it’s bad.

Yes, he is.

He didn't have foot surgery for a Lisfranc injury for fun.

I really thought we had already moved on from Stingley. I don't have any idea how significant his injury is or isn't, and I hadn't given it a great deal of thought. He's a guy who used to play football for LSU. That's about it.

100% true he had a Lisfranc fracture surgically repaired.

Why the hell would he play even if it were a minor injury? Have some empathy and imagine if your kid were a top 5 pick and 6 months away from a generational pay day. Why risk everything to try to compete to win 5 games this season? There's nothing left for him to play for. We aren't in contention, hell we aren't even in contention for a bowl game.

Our fanbase has drug him through the damn mud despite him playing hurt repeatedly. Jesus we are the most insecure fanbase in terms of in house concerns I’ve ever seen.

It's only a question because of his father's comments. That would have riled up any fanbase.

Lisfranc is a serious injury. At least 4-6 months

And the comments the “fans” were making about Stingley Jr would have riled up any father

Didn’t he have lisfranc surgery

We don’t know for sure

He did get a ton of shot for no good reason. But his dad caused some of it too when he insinuated after the UCLA game that Jr might sit out and get ready for the NFL.

I think if Sr would have shut the frick up, his injury would not have been questioned

But my guess is it’s an injury that could have been managed and played through if necessary with surgery coming after the season. I doubt surgery was urgently required TODAY. But he made the decision to fix it now and start the recovery process early, and I can understand the thinking.
This is how I see it too. I think he is certainly injured but would not have kept him out the entire season if there was anything to play for. I honestly can't blame Derek if this is the case.

And he seriously damaged his son's reputation by throwing gas on the fire.

If he had a Lisfranc fracture, you absolutely don’t want him on the field. I’ve known someone who had it and it was terribly painful. He would not have been effective, even if he could have been taped up and splinted and had steroid injections to enable him to walk on it.

Most of the ranter fan base is really dumb, so par for the course. It’s a shoot first and ask questions later type of approach. Check that, they don’t even bother to ask questions later. Once they empty the barrel with uninformed blasts, don’t confuse them with facts.

That's bullshite because dumbasses on this board have been saying Stingley was opting out since before last season.
