Was I in the U.S. Army? Yes.

Do I cheer for Army against Navy? Of course.

So, I grant permission to LSU fans to boo Army when we play them.

There. I solved the problem.

(For the record - West Pointers are the absolute worst.)

It's another college football team. Treat them how you would any other team. Special treatment because they are part of the Army is a slap in the face to them.

Shake the bus. Tiger bait them. I mean, who else gets that experience other than SEC teams?

It would be INSULTING to not treat them like everyone else.

Jesus. How freaking hard is it to just skip booing them when they take the field? Nothing else has to be any different but a symbolic show of respect isn’t the end of the freakin world. Making a big deal out of something so simple is low IQ bullshite.

How about no boos thus create a brief moment of respect/silence As they enter as followed by a deafening chant of "Tiger bait!"

The booing of any team is kinda comical. Like that’s going to intimidate them.

How about we shout as loud as we can (even boo, since it’s almost Halloween!) when Army has the ball. THAT can be intimidating.

Exactly.

Was there some sort of conspiracy that came out earlier this week where all LSU fans were going to boo or something?

What’s the impact of booing? Never understood the purpose of doing it.

What an idiotic statement. Are the two options to either boo them or forfeit?

I think the Army players would expect a full Tiger Stadium experience, and they deserve that.

Imagine the kind of person that would boo a service academy.

They must feel awful on Veterans Day. What kind of country is this where people think treating military personnel with respect is a slap in the face to them?

No one is suggesting you cheer for them during the game, just be respectful and not boo them when they come onto the field initially.

And no one says you can't if you want to. Boorish behavior is part of the Tiger Stadium experience and I may have been a part of that at one time or another.

No one said we couldn't throw piss balloons, just don't boo when you do it.

I generally boo, hiss, cuss the opponents that are in the SEC or an OOC opponent that is a legit threat. Typically don’t boo at the smaller rent a win opponents. So will not be booing at Army. But that’s just me. You guys do you.

I can pretty much guarantee when they fire the cannon when LSU takes the field, the Black Knights won’t flinch. They’ve heard, and prepared, for a lot more than that.

Do you and others think LSU fans are booing the Army, or the opposing football team? It makes me laugh that people actually think the Army Football players would be insulted or give two shits about being boo'd, as if we are booing the armed services.

People are way to touch feely these days!

we can boo their football team, yet still respect the players.

What is this obsession with going soft on an opponent?

Jesus the "thank you for your service" culture is out of control.

Paint the endzone camo to honor the opponent

Make sure you don't boo them like you would any other team

Should we give them a standing ovation as they take the field? An ovation for a great effort after every punt?

I'm grateful for those who serve, I'm appreciative of the huge commitment it takes to attend a service academy as an athlete but damn. Let's just Play football and leave all the phony put ons behind.
