I’m not arguing either way. I don’t know who he is. So I’ll just sit back and wait and see how the offense looks in the fall.
Sorry but no offense will look like this years.
It will be in good hands with Myles Brennan but this past year was just special.

Is he an RPO guy. Doesn't seem like it. If he can't continue what we started then why hire him. I need to do some research but on the surface this is not a good hire.
He brings nothing new to the table.

He won't be moving Coach E out of his office. He's there to help.
I think some of you underestimate how close E is to retirement and the thought put into this hire being a potential replacement in a year

A much better hire than Joe Brady was last season
How in the actual frick can you make this argument?

Linehan isn’t walking through the door with anything innovative.
Joe Brady has never been an NFL OC who knows how successful he will be, secondly what's innovative about this offense? Joe's high school runs this offense, Ohio St runs this offense.
*People need some perspective, we literally had a generational Qb at the helm, the guy threw 60 TDs!

yeah, as soon as they FIRED HIM...

Never fails.
And there’s not a single person on this board that can give a legitimate breakdown on why he sucks with a fact driven argument.
Just “look at his record!” Or “look at where his offenses ranked!”

Linehan is going to suck as PGC because they can look up per game stats on ESPN.com for teams that he was the OC or HC for.
not really the exact reason people are questionable
it's because we just had the greatest offense of all time with RPO/modern college concepts and this dude has no experience or history with that
Posted on 2/10/20 at 5:46 pm to TigerFanNKaty
He’s an RPO guy? Look Jerry was always on him for not using Dak in the RPO game and being vanilla. His WRs lined up in the same spot every down and he ran a Les Miles style route scale. He has a small role so he may help but he’s never proven to be any good.

Another phony narrative. My exact take was it’s not the end of the world but pretending it can’t be questioned is insane. But continue with the lies and melting.
There’s only a handful of people melting about this and you’re one of them.
A couple of questions for you...
Why and how do you know that narrative was untrue and why didn’t O say in the media that Brady was calling all of the plays?
What’s your prediction as to how Linehan is going to effect the offense and what do you see happening to this offense now that he’s been hired?
You’re melting pretty hard, People should learn by now that coming to an immediate conclusion on a coach hasn’t worked out for a lot of posters around here.
You’ve already come to the conclusion that this offense has returned to the Les Miles days today because of Linehan. This is your tone in your posts.

this looks like a tremendous hire
I just don't see it.
It is just a "meh" hire to me. He has never proven to be innovative or dynamic as an OC or play caller. He is part of the NFL old guard that was fired for not adapting to the new era of offense.
Really wish we had gotten someone young that has learned under Sean Payton or Andy Reid or something like that. Hell, even a Lincoln Riley protege or something.
Hope I'm wrong, will be happy to admit it if I am. I am not going to melt because it is just a PGC, but he does have a high bar set for him from Brady, who innovated/adapted our offense literally every week.

I’m not arguing for or against him but what would you describe rankings or records as, if you weren’t going to describe them as facts?
Posted on 2/10/20 at 5:48 pm to Prominentwon
Not melting at all but thanks for your projection. I have to keep repeating that he’s got a small role so he may help but he’s never been good because ppl like you keep putting words in my mouth and lying about what I said. You’re lot is the hyperbole side here I’ve watched the guy for years you haven’t. And your entire logic is Orgeron hired him so even if he’s never been good he is now.

2 year deal for 800k total. It’s a show me deal. If he doesn’t work out, we can him

You would think people would get tired of eating crow.
Also of course there’s a difference between people saying “I don’t understand the hire” and “this dude is a bad coach and a bad hire”.

The offense is installed. They’ve said repeatedly that they’re not changing the offense.
Do people think Linehan is coming in to change to a 2 RB and a FB system? Did Tory Carter just become the most important and happiest player on the team?
Posted on 2/10/20 at 5:49 pm to BeauCephus307
He’s not a terrible playcaller but he’s definitely not super innovative or creative. I actually found him pretty conservative with the playcalling generally as a Cowboys fan. I’m not too excited about the hire itself but I trust O and calling plays should be easier in college than pro ball

Well, fun while it lasted boys. Now that O won him a championship he'll go the Les route and keep his good ole boy network rolling. What a shitty hire. What's he going to install in this offense? Hopefully absolutely nothing because he sucks.
No, I'm not trusting Orgeron with this hire because he's made bad hires in the past.
