Not all of these pitchers can be rostered for Austin this weekend. Some need to earn it tonight.

I agree that the weekend spots on the margins need to be earned in the midweeks.

But I read before the first SEC weekend that the roster went from 27 to 30 for conference series. So more guys can be rostered than we're accustomed to.

To me the most important thing that needs to happen for this pitching staff is the ability for more relievers to command their fastballs. That has been poor since opening weekend for most LSU relief pitchers.

Anderson, Eyanson, Cowan, Evans, and to a lesser degree Schmidt have done well with fastball command.

Ware in particular needs to return to the form we saw from him in preseason. His fastball command after DBU game has been awful.

Must...command...the fastball.

I thought he had said him starting midweek was done. In any case I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some work, just unlikely to be an extended outing

Just because you put quotation marks around it doesn't mean that's what was said. He said the extended outings in midweeks were done. Not that midweek appearances were off the table.
not word for word but that’s just about CJJ said

I found it, Go to 11:39, it was exactly word for word what he said.

You’re very knowledgeable regarding baseball, but no need to constantly be a cocky a-hole on here. Let this be a lesson, that you don’t know it all.

Honestly surprised he said Schmidt was done mid-week. He only pitched like 20 pitches over the whole weekend, figured he would give us an inning or two today.

I think that had more to do with him being a weekend quality pitcher than pitch count.

"So I'm excited about William and I think his days of throwing on any Tuesday are probably over for the rest of his career here."

Exact wording.

Then I was wrong.

I saw a different interview where it was in direct response to a question about the extended outings and he only ruled out the extended outings. It was either a post game or a Mik'd up. Those are the only interviews I ever see.

I’d like to see Dylan Thompson pitch tonight. He was very good in the fall and spring games. Kid throws strikes with tons of movement. Velo is 88-90 but generates weak contact and swing and miss.

I'd like to see Noot, Dorsey, Williams, mayers, and Beck

Those 5 need some innings to either figure things out or earn some weekend time. We're gonna need at least 2 of them to emerge if we're gonna make a run at this thing, with one preferably being a lefty

Woods too if he's not hurt or in the dog house

If Jay hadn't gone on record saying Schmidt was done on Tuesdays

He didn't though.

But he did though.

His pitching on week days are probably over is what Jay said. That means he probably wont pitch on week days. But he left it open when he said "probably". With that being said i think he might pitch an inning or two tonite.

Hope this helps you out
