Changes pitchers without a word to the exiting one and barks at players regularly. I know, that's coaching and I have been the receiver and and giver of that but looks like he is always pissed off and spitting nails.

I watched an interview with him this week. I'm not going to say anything bad about him, but I am so thankful we have Jay Johnson. Seriously not another baseball coach I would want over him.

Jay is so much like BK when they speak. They educate the listeners and that’s what you should do as the head coach. We have had a few in the past that this was an issue. If this an issue to the layman listener it’s a possibility there are communication issues from Coach to player as well.
With these two, we have no worries.
Oh yeah add Kim to the mix on this.

Knew someone that pitched for him at Tulane in the late 90s. He doesn’t just look like a mean sob he is one.

If he’s in control of the defensive placements it’s an undeniable fact that he does not

Y’all don’t know what you’re talking about.
What’s he supposed to do? Bring his pitcher candy and flowers?

I’ve met him a few times and he is a *great* guy, and I think that’s pretty evident by the way he’s recruited over the years. The man has been to SIX College World Series. He was beloved at TCU. (Well, used to be). He took that program from literally deaths door to five trips to Omaha.

I’ll say this — he was well-liked enough by his TCU players that the ones who made it big (Matt Carpenter, Jake Arrieta, notably) have given back to the program in big $$$ ways.

I just think what you’re seeing is a classic case of “dugout face.” He’s just got a sour one.

Hey, he’s getting his arse kicked this weekend!! How’s he supposed to look?

By the way, even though Vitiello was once an assistant of his, he thinks Vitiello is a raging a-hole.

Most of those were with the player Vitello got for him. The players he didn’t know the names of until they got to campus.

I can guarantee you that feeling is mutual

He’s not. He’s a tough coach but very engaging and has that gift where he can talk to a stranger and make them feel like the most important person in the room
