Remember this fool and this article when we win our next Natty. Bookmarking it now. Don’t know who Josh Chatham is but he definitely seems butthurt over the hire. Hearing all the same “cultural fit” “no fun” type stuff. Yea…neither was Nick Saban when he got here. You know what’s fun? WINNING!

This is a lazy take that a lot of opposing fans and national media guys who are scared are running with.

The old guard sports media is extremely arse hurt about the Kelly hire for 2 reasons.

First, they dont like the idea that an SEC program can just take a premier coach from a northern blue blood program. For many, ND is still the gold standard college football program.

Second, the SEC continues to get more dominant, sucking the life out of the coastal conferences where all of these douchers grew up.

Just realized that. Ends the article with a Roll Tide. That should explain everything.

For other SEC teams. Unless he jist completely DGAF anymore, I don't see how he could possible do any worse than O did the last 2 seasons.

1. It is an Alabama fan site. So take that into account.

2. Knocking the hire because of "cultural fit" is the laziest argument against the hire anyone can make. LSU just had to fire the best "cultural fit" anyone could ever imagine because he could not crack .500.

Does anyone belief Nick Saban is a "cultural fit" for Alabama? What about Nate Oats (a Wisconsin native)?

WINNING is a "culture" that fits EVERYWHERE

Orgeron was supposed to be a “cultural fit” and ended up a disaster. Saban is a “no fun” type guy who is the greatest of all time who personally has more NCs than nearly all other schools.

This sounds like air tight logic about why BK isn’t a good hire.

Waaat. By all accounts Saban is a jolly and fun player's coach who fit right in both in Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa, which are basically the same exact culture.

I truly believe these national sports media clowns picture The Waterboy when deciding if someone will "fit in" down in the swampy backwoods of Baton Rouge.

Here's what Michael Crichton had to say about it.

"Media carries with it a credibility that is totally undeserved. You have all experienced this, in what I call the Murray Gell-Mann Amnesia effect. (I call it by this name because I once discussed it with Murray Gell-Mann, and by dropping a famous name I imply greater importance to myself, and to the effect, than it would otherwise have.)

Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect works as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray’s case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the “wet streets cause rain” stories. Paper’s full of them.

In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story—and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read with renewed interest as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about far-off Palestine than it was about the story you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know."

I can't imagine many coaches that have more of a chance of success at LSU than BK. He's as solid a coach as there is.

Only way the wheels fall off on this thing is if he loses a lot of battles for top recruits.

For this guy to say "disaster" really shows his fear. BK has not been a disaster at any point in his career. Usually disaster rears its head at some point before the coach is 60.
