I’ve seen a lot of talking heads say that LSU has more pressure on them to win this game. I don’t think that can be further from the truth. Most LSU fans care much more about making the top 12 and making a run in the playoffs. I couldn’t care less who we lost to during the year as long as we get there. On the flip side, Ole Miss probably cares much more about beating Lane and LSU than anything else this particular year. A loss to LSU Saturday may very well break them mentally for the rest of the season and start the inevitable decline back to obscurity.

100% agree with you that the pressure is on Ole Miss not LSU. We usually beat Ole Miss and beating them would be a normal win for us. They HAVE to beat LSU this week because of all their actions since Lane left. Pressure is absolutely on them.

If we don’t turn the ball over, we are going to have their stadium mostly empty by the 4th quarter. And it’ll be a LSU home game by then

Losing won’t break them. It will be the way they get beat. It’s going to embarrass their fan base to get humiliated at home.

We are in a WIN/WIN situation.
This year is their last shot. Very similar to 2007 when LSU played Saban for the first time. LSU wins that game, but Alabama wrecks LSU for the next 15 years.
I hope we don't lose on Saturday so I don't have to hear Steven Willis run his mouth all next week, but long term win or lose they may never beat us again as long as Kiffin is the coach

The pressures on them. They are playing for relevancy and a loss pushes them all the way back down to pre Lane. We know where we’re going in the future… they don’t …

if they cant beat us in year 1 when they have a generational QB/RB tandom and some remnants of Kiffin regime.. they are cooked

I agree. Ole Miss is the jilted ex that got dumped by the boyfriend that was WAY out of their league. They are outwardly projecting right now that the ex "wasn't that good anyway" and the new boyfriend is everything they really want. But inside they don't fully believe that and there is concern that the walks in with his new girlfriend and immediately validates those fears for all to see, reinforcing that things will never be as good as they were for the last 3 years again.
For LSU, if they lose it will be a tough loss to a good team on the road. That happens in the SEC. But Kiffin will still be LSU's HC going forward.
We as LSU fans know EXACTLY what this looks like. LSU "didn't care" that Saban went to Alabama. Les had a great record in 3 seasons. He won a NC. He beat Saban's Alabama team in 2007. He was "better" than our ex who brought us to heights not reached for decades prior. Then, as the No. 1 team in 2008 he came into an angry Tiger Stadium and won....and then won 12 of the next 16 games, including taking a national championship away.
That day in 2008 brought all of the concerns that "our guy" was going to take our hated rival to the heights we should be enjoying to the surface. An Ole Miss loss on Saturday will show them a bit of what it felt like to be an LSU fan during the Saban (Alabama) years.

That's why we feel cheated in 2011. You lose this game now and your season is still alive.
That said this game is going to hurt OM more than LSU if they lose it.

Let the media push the Ole Miss narrative and claim LSU and LK have the pressure. I like when everyone is picking against us. Create that us against the world view, its a perfect situation.

That's why we feel cheated in 2011. You lose this game now and your season is still alive.
He's talking specifically with the direct competition vs. LSU. LSU beat Alabama in 2007...then spent the next 15+ years mostly losing to Alabama.
The foundation of Ole Miss's team this year are guys Lane brought in (similar to the 2007 LSU team). Prior to Lane, Ole Miss was irrelevant on the national stage for 60 years. If they don't get LSU now with a good QB in front of a home crowd that will be more fired up than ever before, they are likely staring at going back to the pre-Lane level. Once you've lived a few years in the country club it is really, really hard to accept going back to the 1,500 sq foot ranch home in the 60 year old neighborhood that is declining

I hope the fans on this site don't melt like a bunch of vaginas if we lose a close game. As much as I want to beat Ole Miss it is still difficult to win on the road in the SEC and our goal is to make the playoffs. That being said I still believe we win by 10+ and have put my money where my mouth is with bets of -3 and -9.5 with odds. If we don't turn the ballover I think we roll them. If we were to lose in a close game I would expect some TO to be involved.

I cant imagine it even being close.
Im also starting to look at Sam's 1st 2 performances as being pretty vanilla. Lane specializes in offensive scemes. He has some definite plans for OM defense.

They are loading the wagon with everything they’ve got and putting every ounce of hate, wishes, future hope, prayers, energy etc. into this one game. Losing will be much more than just an L on their schedule. It will take their soul and crumble them. A quick turn around @ Florida may give them another loss. If that happens, when they play @Texas and then vs Georgia it will be like buzzards circling road kill. Saturday will be the first domino to fall and it will be glorious.
