Yep. This was 100% a setup by the NCAA. Most of sports media either believes it or is entertaining that possibility now. They will do anything to claw some of their power back.

Does it matter that the SEC is not blocking eligibility per se. They are saying you can have them and you can play them but if they play for an SEC team the school/coach will be punished. To me that’s not saying they are ineligible. Would this stop the “punishments”. I am obviously far from an attorney. So no clue all the loopholes in wording and stuff

That was my entire point. You have rules being made in college football because a a single judge’s opinion. That’s a problem.

Not the judges problem, it’s the school presidents fault. The courts have had to step in due to college administrators unwillingness to evolve over literal decades.

Did they create it? Maybe the NCAA created it when they ham handed the execution of the 5 for 5 rule.
Maybe the collectives created it when they went into competition with the NFL for players. How conflicting is it to argue that getting paid in college is amateur but getting paid in the NFL is professional.
Why did the NCAA exclude the 2022 freshman players? Couldn't they have the foresight to expect some players would challenge this? We should assume some modicum of intelligence by the NCAA, college presidents but they've had their thumbs up their asses for the past decade or so.
Sankey is no Mensa candidate and he wouldn't win any personality contests either. He seems to lack the art of the schmooze.
