Not sure if already posted, but the search function is terrible.
His intensity and production on the field are obviously off the charts, but what a great attitude this guy has. Individual and team goals are out of this world. So happy he decided to come back. Great OOS pull by Miles.

“I want to push myself to get 20 sacks before the season is over with,” said Montgomery. “I want to be in the running for Heisman. I want to get the best defensive end award, SEC Defensive Lineman of the Year, First-Team All-SEC, All-American. I want to leave on top.”
quote:
“I gave some thought to [going pro],” he said. “But one of the main things I wanted to do was I wanted to come back, and I wanted to make sure that I didn’t make a lot of mistakes a lot of people have made - not getting their degree. And also I wanted to make sure the next guy behind me, Justin Maclin, Jordan Allen, are prepped up and ready to go and ready to step into the fire and play football at the college level.”

Big Sam is the shite. I've always liked him. Like you said, great attitude and effort from the kid.

Sam is whats good about college football. IMO one of Les best OOS recruiting jobs. We need him to a be a beast this year and I don't think he disappoints.

Selfless guy. I love it.

When I see posts like this, I immediately assume that you are young because there are so many "favorite" Tigers from over the years to choose from. Has there ever been a faster defensive end/lineman than Sam? Probably not. He does have a great attitude.

Oh, you're gonna be that guy, huh?

you got to love a guy who waves off going pro

He is one of those special human beings that come around every so often. More for what he does off the field than on the field. That kind of selflessness is rare today.

I'm in my 30s, so probably not young in relation to most of the posters on this board.
I love so many great Tigers that I've seen grow up on the field of Tiger Stadium as I grew up as a young kid, and as an LSU undergrad, law student, and alumni.
Josh Reed has been the one guy I've always talked about as my "favorite", although picking one isn't fair to so many others that I've had so much joy watching.
But Sam's attitude on and off the field is the type of thing that I'll always remember with pride.
If he, and the team, have the type of success we're all hoping for this season, Big Sam will be right up there with the best of them, and I might just talk about him first before the great JReed in the future.

Sonic Sam has been my favorite for a while. Dude is all about LSU and knows what LSU is all about. Love this kid.
