Go watch some of the film breakdown. Protection wasn’t near as bad as you think. He rarely went to his second read before he tucked and ran. Even when the pocket was clean.

He's good at what he does. 1 read and done.
A clean pocket would help but, there were times he could step up and deliver.
Tipped balls hurt and, try to throw the receiver open. Good teams are going to be in the passing lanes.
If he doesn't improve this week................

He was the No. 1 ranked QB in the portal, which speaks more to what was available in the portal than his true value in a relative sense, that being relative to all other QB's.
What would say a respected pro scout have rated him nationally above all college QB's going into the season I have no idea. My guess would have been around 15 or 20? is that elite? has his performance to this point in 3 games been elite?
And I'll agree the O-line outside of Clemson has been poor in pass protection, but I think you can still answer the question in context of that.

He looks lost in the offense, he's a good player but this is more the issue I think he don't quite grasp the whole offense yet.

Right now he is a below-average passer in the SEC and an elite runner averaging 5 ypc with 6 rushing TDs on track to easily break Daniels' single season record for rushing TDs at LSU with 11. He's a mixed bag. If he could settle down, be a little more patient in the pocket and work on his throwing motion for better accuracy, he could be elite. But that will take work. He at least needs to make his passes to wide open guys catchable for LSU to beat the best teams on its schedule.

You need to watch the film breakdown under the thread film doesn't lie in this Tiger droppings thread. The offensive line was dominated by the Ole Miss defensive line. Levitt could rarely step in the throws and was running for his life a great majority of the time
