Sam is the offspring of Johnny Manziel & Baker Mayfield

He runs like Johnny (crazy start-stop-change-of-direction), and throws a bit like Baker.

He looks weird running.
It works, but it looks weird. I'm not sure how to describe it. Maybe like a deer.

You probably think it looks weird because we was so use to the statue QB play from the last couple of years.....

I'm even seeing a bit of Auburn's Bo Nix.

He’s quick and has a twitchy change of direction. I just hate seeing him run so much but was glad to see the coach’s deliberately worked on the passing game in the 2nd half. Hopefully they continue to air it out next week against Tech.

My concern is that he runs with reckless abandon and therefore he's more than likely to incur injuries. Let's hope not, but we do have a QB room for a change

Manziel is a good comp. It’s kind of a wild (arms going everywhere) herky-jerky style. But he has good vision and great timing on when to make a cut

He's not the passer Baker was/is, at least not yet. I think he can get there however.

It’s what this poster said
He also has the classic hard cut and go. His biggest strength as a runner is he has good vision of the open space and runs to that space.

But only when he played LSU

I hope he learns to tuck the ball. He’s asking for it to get punched out with the way he holds it so far from his body.

I was moreso comparing it to the way Burrow and Daniels looked when they ran. Burrow ran with force. Daniels ran to elude.
Leavitt almost looked like he was still ready to toss the ball. I guess Manziel is a decent comparison.

I agree but think it's part of his maintaining balance when he makes hard cuts. Much like Johnny F'n Football as I recall.

Yeah.
Kiffin didn't seem happy with him last night.
I feel like I need to sit and meditate for a second after considering Kiffin's reaction to last night's game versus Brian Kelly's reaction to last year's opening game. However nasty and stupid and disjointed and expensive it looked and was, LSU's admin made the right choices at every step of the way, from the end of the aggy game to Kiffin's hiring and the shitstorm after.

That run that got called back for the personal foul was really impressive. Had eyes in the back of his head on that one.

It’s still crazy to me how many people on here still though pro style QBs are the way to go lol
