You must be thinking of someone else. Grant Delpit was a stud the moment he set foot on campus. He started 10 games as a freshman.
Incorrect he had several blown coverage early in the year most notable the Auburn game and people weren’t happy with him

the next play Ryan makes will be the first.
I watched him strip the ball from the Bama tight end (Latu) as they were just getting into field goal position last year. LSU recovered but they ruled the Bama player touched it while out of bounds. The strip was still a great play. Maybe I dreamed that, though.

Mary Vincent (#5 defense) may be a more apt comparison

I am sure Sage Ryan is a better athlete than you.

No doubt, even though I was a college athlete lol….my point was that he’s better than what we have given him credit for and might be a breakout safety this year.

Would love to see him put it all together

Stevens eventually found his best role as a hybrid safety and linebacker later on as he developed and he made himself into a decent college football player at least.
JaCoby fricked us the 2020 season when he decided he would rather be a social justice warrior for BLM instead of being a senior leader keeping a locker room focused. I lost all respect for him with that bullshite. He tanked that season.

Or…. Bo Pelini tanked that defense and had no idea how to use anybody in that secondary

On a completely unrelated topic, how is this not a penalty or something? It’s such a terrible rule. If a player is out of bounds and touches a live ball, shouldn’t it be a penalty or something?

This. I felt bad for him in the A&M game - those two big passes looked like they had eyes and went around him.

Yeah, Bo went from winning a championship in 2005 to having no idea how to coach. Even that bullshite was the soft players on that team complaining he yelled at them too much. 2019 was a crew of hard killers but 2020 was full of the softest pussies on the planet. And JaCoby led that group wearing 7.

and it makes me chuckle when fans think practice will turn a 3* into a 5*.
Ryan is already a 5*.

Now sure, it does happen where a guy blossoms late in his career. But, although practice and hard work will surely make a guy better, . . . 90% of it is God-given talent. The rest is hard work
Exactly. And at the major college level 90% isn't going to cut it. Which is why practice and training and experience are crucial, not "insanity".
