Where did you hear this?

between this thread and the Denver Harris thread, you have 42 posts.

And at least 30 of those are asking a question we already know the answer to.

They are cross training a lot of guys.
Sage will play a lot of nickel corner / safety but I doubt he spends any time wide in game action.

When he got kicked off the team for thinking his shite didn't stink and being late? Do you live under a rock? McGlothern himself wasn't happy about it but he should've thought about that before he did it.

Of course we aren't where we want to be at CB depth wise, but context matters in this.

Year one wasn't even really a year at all for Kelly and he had to just survive that first 2022 class. The 2023 class he had to supplement from the portal again because it takes time to build relationships with high school coaches and players. Here comes 2023 and what do you know, they reel in a loaded DB class. In the meantime, yes we had to take a ton of transfers but considering the circumstances we inherited from the shrimp boat captain, it's remarkable the secondary is in the position it's in today.

I said for years that Corey Raymond was an average recruiter at best and got major downvotes. Now, seems like everyone agrees.

Anyway, I'm glad he's a Gator now...

Raymond just stole the #2 recruit in Louisiana and the best DB according to recruiting sites. Seems he can still recruit.

We got a better corner in Cai Bates.

Mack isn’t sticking with Florida, and the current DB situation is because of his and Orgeron mismanagement.

You have no idea. You’re just guessing like always.

Why can’t we have both

I am sorry but hasn't Sage always been considered a Nickel Cornerback? Never really understood why everyone keeps lumping him with the Safety's. Why would he not get corner reps if he is our starting Nickel Corner.

Just from what I read on various sites it seems your starting DB's are going to be:

CB - Duce
S - Major
S - Greg Brooks
CB - Zy
Nickel - Sage

And then you have a bunch of guys who are basically cross training and rotating in a lot:

S - Andre Sam
S/Nickel - Javian Toviano
S/Nickel - Jordan Allen
CB - LT Welch
CB - Ashton Stamps
CB - Denver Harris

All the names above are names that have been mentioned to some degree in the 2-3 deep. IMO seems to be a solid group if they can put it all together.

Feel like people are maybe panicking a bit for no reason.

247 says Bates is better. Not me.

Because other teams get to recruit also.

I’m actually getting worried about the corner room. Starting to feel like that’s what’s gonna hold us back from being real contenders. Can’t bring poor secondary play against FSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Bama, etc

I think we are better at Corner than we were last year. It’s not great but it’s better.

Well we know Mack was getting recruited as a safety so considering out of the two Bates is the only one the staff considers a corner he is by default a better corner than Mack.

I've seen this a ton on here since he committed. Always accompanied with "He may not come to LSU, but he's not going to Florida"

Why is this the overwhelming thought? Not disagreeing with it, just not sure what I'm missing that makes it so obvious he won't end up at Florida.

If he's not going to start, getting him experience as a utility player isn't bad. Never know when you'll find yourself in a pinch

Florida is about to have a bad season.

They're playing 5 teams currently in the top 14.
