Doc,
You’re preaching to the choir.
It’s an unpopular belief. Mainly because so many of us want to believe it can be done, and it could be/have been us.
Carville hit a nerve yesterday. The corruption going on within the SEC office right now is unfathomable. Most people wouldn’t believe it. It’s sad. College football used to be our reprieve from the corrupt NFL.
Not anymore.

You know I’m right, that’s entertaining too.

CoastalTide:
Do you think the University of Alabama kicks of Tyrann Mathieu for Pot? Why did Savion Smith get kicked out of LSU and wind up at Alabama. So lets start just on the drug testing policy and why schools like Alabama do not want uniform testing, either NCAA or SEC, if NCAA does not want to tackle it.
As for PEDs, I don't think there were tons of articles about LSU players and PEDs back in 2003 and 2007. There have been several done about Alabama (one by Sports Illustrated comes to mind off the top of my head), just for the record.

Bingo: I watch LSU play, which means I which little to no football when they are not playing. The sooner more people do the same, the sooner the sport will take a financial hit and maybe some sanity can come back to it.

Half way thru readying your post the SEC/REC office stopped me from reading it. It won't happen

I know for a fact that people associated with LSU have dirt on Saban but refused to blow the whistle fearing repercussions for LSU’s record under Saban including the 2003 championship.
Posted on 11/4/18 at 2:35 pm to DeltaDoc
Nothing will happen to Saban with Emmert in charge of the NCAA. They own the SEC and have complete immunity from the NCAA looking in. No wonder they are so arrogant.

He is doing it now at Alabama. I talked to a car dealer in Mobile that gives the hook up to good Bama players for high end cars. He said they will lease out $80,000 vehicles to Bama players for $1.00 a month.
Also, told me a story about a Jamarcus Russel family member that he would lease cars out to. Said they would open fast food ketchup packets and squirt it directly into the cup holders and dip their fries in it. Said they would get these vehicles back with a mountain of dried ketchup in all of the cup holders. Disgusting.

The fact that players whole families are relocating to Alabama is a hint something might be going on.
So it's Saban's fault that dumps like this sell for $550,000 in Hawaii, while $185,000 buys you this in Alabaster in Shelby County?
Family probably could have paid cash for anything $200,000 or less in Alabaster. But keep enjoying your fantasy.

"You think Bama is clean? Simple question. Yes or no.
If no, you think they are cleaner than anyone else?"
Doc, I honestly do think they're as clean as any other program. I think when he first got to Bama, his previous success at LSU helped his recruiting (plus the fact he's one of the top recruiters in the sport). After the first few years though, the success recruits itself. Think about it, any player he recruited at LSU or Alabama won a National Championship if they stayed the maximum 5 years (that's for the 2003 and 2007 players at LSU, it's more like if they stay 3 years since he's been at Bama). Most players are looking at Championships and NFL Draft prospects when they choose a school and think where can I get both; doesn't take a bagman to get players when you consider those 2 factors. Like he told Julio, "we'll win with you or without you."

I bet if you put Robert Mueller in charge of the investigation he'd get to the bottom of it quickly...

But Julio is an Alabama native. I can totally understand him playing for his home state school. After he finishes football, the rest of his life is Gravy so to speak assuming he does not to anything off the field to mess his life up. Best I can tell, NFL success has not gone to his head and he seems to be a level headed guy who has his act together. He settles in Alabama after NFL, he can do well economically leveraging his Alabama playing days into business opportunities. If I am an Alabama car dealership, or bank, etc, Julio does ads for me when he is done and of course Julio Makes lots of money for those businesses using him to market their products.
But all these players from around the country? Hell, I am in my 50's, Bear Bryant could not do that. Yes, I know he got Namath from PA, he got some good players out of LA here and there in the 1970's, Terry Davis from Bogalusa, Tommy Wilcox from Kenner (metro New Orleans), etc., both of which I remember, but not like this.

I have no clue where Shelby County Alabama is. The only place I am somewhat familiar with in Alabama is Mobile, only because I have driven through it so many times in my younger days on way to FLA panhandle. Is that where all these out of state recruits families like Tua's family live.

Every division one team is doing it, those that refuse to believe it are living a fairy tale that these are amateur student athletes, and not a professional sports organization operating in a NFL farm league.

JKC, I suspect that most 4 and 5-star players think they have a NFL career in their future (even though statistically that isn't the case) so they don't heavily weigh their post-football opportunities in their home state vs another state in their decision-making process. Thanks for the reasonable discussion.
