LSU May have better star rankings on rivals, but Clemson has obviously been coached up better bc that team is more physical and stronger and better coached than LSU team

Ding ding ding. That's not talent, its coaching.

How did Saban get great talent?

Take Saban's 1st year conference record at Michigan State, LSU, and Alabama, plus his NFL record. (All situations where he lacked a talent advantage)

Add it up, you get 28-27-1.

He is nothing special when you take away his talent advantage.

But he is such a great recruiter that he very rarely goes into a game without a decisive talent advantage anymore.

Recruiting class rankings say that Clemson does not have the same talent as Alabama. My take is he can't coach when he doesn't control the refs.

Last nights neutral refereeing was glorious to watch.

First I've seen of this comment...that thought kept me smiling the whole game. Refs missed a few on both sides (incursion into the neutral zone and a few x's missed 5 in BF), but by and large Bamee got nailed on many calls that aren't normally called on them...I am extremely biased you understand.

KingNOLASaban cant coach when talent is equalHe has shown again that when the teams match up well together, he cannot out coach anybody. Just like his stint in the NFL. He is a great HC because of his recruiting and that is IT!! Heres to hoping Old Ensminger and Orgeron watched the game last night.

So what you are saying is the talent in the rest of the SEC sucks? You are crazy. I just think Saban plays mind games better than any other coach in the SEC and unfortunately, too many believe the media hype how great Saban and his team is. If you go into the game thinking I'm probably going to lose, you are already defeated.

Good grief, this is stupid. Think of the teams they have beaten in just the past few years. UGA, OU, Clemson, OSU. All of these teams had inferior talent?

Stupid.

DiNardo beat Saban in the Independence Bowl. Think about it.

That Michigan State team had some serious talent on offense.
10 year NFL vet at QB (Banks) throwing to two first team All-Pro WRs (Mason & Muhammad) who had over 1,800 receptions in the league.

you are too stupid to even converse with.

scroll back and see what i posted about his time in cleveland and toldeo, etc. Did you know his team in Miami in 2005 only gave up 19 PPG? but cannot coach? Best D in league in cleveland? but cannot coach? His Miami team in 2006 had the 5th ranked total D in the NFL. 5th ranked passing D? 5th ranked scoring D? but cannot coach?

yep cannot coach

so every year at Toldeo, MSU, LSU and BAMA he always had superior talent at all spots?

Because you misread my post? That makes me stupid?

When league average was 20.6 PPG. What's that supposed to prove?

but cannot coach?

Link me to where I said Saban cannot coach.

No. But we know he lacked a talent advantage his first year at each stop because his recruiting ability had no effect yet. And in each instance, his record was just ok. In the NFL, where he also lacked a clear talent advantage, his record was just ok.

Again, my position is that when Saban lacks a clear talent advantage as a HC, there is no data to indicate he is anything but average.

We all know he is exceptional with a talent advantage (and the GOAT recruiter) but that is irrelevant to the point I'm making.

The premise of the original post is one of the dumbest things I have ever had the displeasure of reading here. In 2011, LSU actually beat Bama in Tuscaloosa 9-6. The two teams were very evenly matched in terms of talent. In the rematch, Saban made adjustments and butt-fricked Miles 21-0. Saban has beaten various other equally or more talented (e.g. Tenn 2001) teams throughout his career. The OP is an idiot.
