Then he will have earned an honest interview. The competition has to be opened up. The university deserves a thorough search.

All Saban has to do his point his finger and say hire this person or that person etc. the man has the golden eye for spotting coaching talent.

He would have to relinquish his post as a Bama consultant first.

How is hiring a black coach setting the bar higher? Because of his skin color? Pretty poor qualification for hiring a coach don’t you think? How about base it on performance. And, if using that criteria, what exactly has he done anywhere that would make him the best candidate? Marcus Freeman would be a better candidate based on that.

He recommended LSU hire Houston Nutt when he left.

Yea, Saban can't wait to sign a contract with LSU with metrics and meet with the Governor to review game plans.

I am familiar with Frank Wilson’s record but everything is different now in the fact you need to have someone who can hire the right people to call plays and get a top flight DC here but nobody has the connections and the respect of every dam hs coach in the State like Frank Does!! Football is and will always be a people business. Great players make great Coaches and Frank will have this State on lockdown. Plus we can really set the Bar by Hiring the first Black Head Coach in the conference.

Some really bad logic. He was also a head coach in 2021. It’s not like it was ancient history. This would be an epically bad hire.

We didn’t just fire a HC we hired from a tier 1 school and pay him 54m (or 27 or whatever he buyout is) to turn around and hire Wilson who was a failing HC at Mcneese. Love him for the program, love he loves LSU. But get real.

Heard he was there yesterday. Think he’s more likely to be interested in AD position than head coach.
