what he meant to say was "I've always loved LSU and wished I had never left, we'd have about 7 National Titles, probably more "

That and the fact the Les had just won the SEC that season.

Wouldn't have looked good to fire him at that point for a coach who at the time didnt have the stature he does now

As it turns out, what I learned from that experience in hindsight was, it was a huge mistake to leave college football

Why would he come out and say this now? He's either contemplating retirement and reminiscing on what could have been, or he already knows he's going to lose to LSU this year and trying to save face.

How could we have parted ways with Les after winning the west and the Sugar Bowl year 1 and 2? There was no way to make that happen even assuming Saban really did want to come back to LSU

Well he is going to be inducted into the LOUISIANA SPORTS HALL OF FAME, for one.

Miles was out after the FL loss unless he ran the table, which is what happened. Then we blew ND off the field in the Sugar Bowl.
Remember commenting that we may have just seen the pinnacle of LSU football.
Bert never should have let him leave to begin with. Ego showdown that looking back was a big mistake by our AD.

I’m about 99% sure these quotes are actually from several years ago and just being rehashed for clicks

frick him. Since he came back to College Football he has done everything he could to shite on LSU. Again, frick HIM.

Saban approached LSU to release Miles and hire him as head coach again, but Skip said no way, we have a guy we like working with in Miles.

By your logic the next topic should be about Dinardo, right? Since it's not a Saban/Bama obsession.
