Huh?

There are many reasons why they left that are unrelated to Saban's history with LSU and Alabama, but what I was thinking was maybe Saban doesn't win 5 championships at LSU (I'd like to think he would have) and Urban and/or Jimbo would have won some of those that Saban would not have won. Therefore they would stay longer at Ohio State and Florida State. It's all just speculation.

no, but in this case, it absolutely is immature and childish to think a coach who once coached here owes us some kind of loyalty years down the road that would prohibit him from coaching elsewhere in our division or conference.

To believe otherwise demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of how the business world works and is, indeed, childish.

Nick Saban will be forever known as the NFL coach that passed on first ballot hall of famer Drew Brees.

It goes both ways. Saban doesn’t owe us loyalty and we don’t owe him loyalty. Which makes all the white knighting for him by a vocal few LSU fans all the more puzzling.

He had a right to go to Bama, and we had a right to dislike him for it. I don’t see the problem here.

sure we can dislike that he went to our rival, but not because he broke some duty of loyalty to LSU. That’s what my posts are about- this silly loyalty argument by some on this board.

He is selling something ....
He padded his bank account pretty well and he learned a lot from those mistakes.
Better coach now than when at LSU.

.....and we loved you. Still, you never know how things will turn out. Life has a way of working magic. No hard feelings here Coach Saban. We regretted when you left us, but I for one understood you did it because you wanted to coach in the NFL. You acknowledge it was a bad decision to leave LSU and I can empathize with you. Who among us has not made a decision(s) we came to regret.

Thank you for what you did for LSU.

When Miles was rumored to be heading to Michigan in 2007 there were 3 names in the hunt for next coach: Jack Del Rio, Spurrier and Saban.

Oh what could’ve been

Personally, I’d preferred he never came back to college football because I don’t like his teams dominating the landscape. I just don’t fault a man for taking big money offered to him. This is America after all.
