This Wafb interview with Ryan Perrililloux became popular when it was first aired in 2020, I posted it for those LSU fans who may have missed it. Perrilloux explains how he will always love and be a part of LSU, and the close relationship he built with former LSU and NFL quarterback Matt Flynn. Hope you enjoy it!

Jacques Doucet - Ryan Perrilloux is certainly one of the biggest “what if” stories in LSU football history. Perrilloux was one of the nation’s top recruits coming out of East St John High School and played a nice role in the Tigers’ 2007 national championship team.

Unfortunately, the quarterback was then dismissed from the team for a number of off-the-field problems during the spring of 2008. Perrilloux met with WAFB-TV’s Jacques Doucet to discuss all of that and more during the summer of 2020. LINK

This interview helps fans to understand how LSU quarterbacks like Flynn and Perrilloux, Daniels and Nuss have worked together. And how Nuss will work with whoever is at his side at LSU in 2024.

That one joint changed the history of Lsu football. In stead of probably 2 more national championships.. We start a freshman QB then run conservative offenses through the next 10 years. Poor QB play til Danny Etling

Les didn't completely handcuff the offense until after Jarrett Lee was prematurely thrust into action because of RP getting kicked off the team. The pick 6s made Les go ultra conservative. IMO, Les would have let RP go wild with the offense. But we'll never know what could have been.

Great, succinct summary of the RP effect on Les.

Strongly disagree. IMO, RP was a huge dual-threat talent, a talent that was big enough to overcome Miles' inept passing offense.

Imagine how monumental that era could have been with back to back LSU titles or maybe even the first 3 peat in college football history.

Cecil Collins, Perrilloux and Mathieu robbed us (and themselves) out of what could have been greatness at LSU. Mathieu accomplished a hell of a lot still in his abbreviated time.

Too Many What ifs
What if Trey Prather doesn't go to Vietnam
What if Mike Miley returns to LSU for his Senior Season
What if Bo Rein drove instead of flew
What if Josh Booty arrives in Baton Rouge in 1994 instead of 1999

Fixed it for you. Danny Etling tried as hard as he could, but he was mediocre.

Perrilloux could have been a great one, if not for his off-the-field misfires. He combined the agility of Jayden with the raw strength and ability of Burrow. One can only imagine what our offense would have been in 2008 and 2009 with Perrilloux

Miles could have denied Saban several of his titles, and would still be coaching at LSU. It says a lot when you can say, RP could have changed the history of college football. LSU not Ala could be at the top of the mountain.

Change that to LSU’s compliance Dept. What Mathieu did would never resulted in him getting kicked out of 80% of the other SEC schools.

RP’s ability was substantial and desirable, no doubt, but his greatness is overstated.

If he was so good, why did he land at Jacksonville State rather than a higher profile school? Why didn’t he become a starting QB in the NFL?

Lot of hmmms surrounding RP.
