Between the debacle last November and the embarrassing performance against Wisconsin on September 3rd, Miles' has lost the bulk of his remaining supporters (a club in which I was a card-carrying member). I naively believed for the past several years that Miles would deliver more 2006, 2007, 2011 type of results. Unfortunately what we got is a replay of 2008, 2009 and 2014; years of struggling against lesser opponents with the hope of getting to 8 or 9 regular season wins.

It now appears, even to the most enthusiastic Miles supporter, that the die is cast. Everything we don't like about Miles, everything that makes him a less than efficient coach in today's game, is baked into the cake. You can't undo it. It's in there.

This is really disappointing because I like and enjoy Les Miles as a person and a character, but if he doesn't win em all from this point out, I can't get back on board.

We have the experience, we have the talent.

The SEC was 7-7 in P5 play this weekend, the worst of the conferences.

There is no excuse if we don't win it.

He could probably survive another loss.

But only if that loss was to another highly ranked team (like Bama) and it was competitive and the offense improves dramatically.

In that scenario LSU would still be a top 10 team and probably get a legit bowl.

Les survives with that.

Is it likely to happen? I don't think so.

the miles loyalists have made it clear, they're fine with 3-4 losses, so we're still on pace

Yeah ... but, it's not going to happen.

The special teams are a disaster and the offense can't score. Aranda might be an inspired choice as DC, but the offensive staff and BDP are individually and collectively disastrous.

Six straight losses to the gumps should be enough to get an LSU coach fired--even one with a much better offense than Les's.

I don't think it will happen either

but by some miracle the team and coaches have some "coming to Jesus" moment and rallies, Les still could survive another loss, which was my point

Miles doesnt need to survive. He needs to win out an then retire. He does not need to coach another season at LSU.

Meh. Les survives with 10 wins, regardless. He also survives with 9 and a passing attack that actually produces.

At the end of the day though, it's looking highly unlikely that LSU gets to 10 wins and damn near impossible that the passing attack will show signs of life.

Also, before some idiot chimes in with nonsense about how "different" the offense was, I get that. The thing is a "different" offense means exactly dick when the production remains exactly the same.

You would have to include me in the "Miles Loyalist" category, and I am not ok with another single loss this season (let alone 3 or 4).

If LSU goes 10-2, they'd do so with defense and lucky bounces.

The offense is going to be a disgrace all season. 10-2 with a legit bowl, strangely enough, might be the worst case scenario, since nothing would change for 2017.

If he gets to 10 regular season wins, I think he's safe.

If he beats Bama, he's likely safe.

No, he has to run the table and make the play-offs. When he decided to keep Cam in November, he may have sealed his own fate.

I'm not sure if he's lost his support. I thought most people wanted him gone last year and was shocked by the people I sit next to at the Stadium. They were strongly behind him. I'm curious how they will be Saturday night
