re: Rumor that King Alexander may step down in June
quote:

It was announced on March 27, 2013, that Alexander would become president of the LSU system and chancellor of Louisiana State University A&M effective July 1, 2013.[9] Some criticism occurred over the way the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors had conducted its search to fill the position of president of LSU after John V. Lombardi had been fired from it under alleged influence by Governor Bobby Jindal and as Alexander was named the sole finalist for president of LSU. The decision was met with a unanimously negative vote of confidence by LSU's faculty senate against the LSU Board of Supervisors, but Board of Supervisors chair Hank Danos asserted that Alexander "was clearly the right guy for LSU."[10] The Faculty Senate's vote of no confidence in Alexander's hiring noted that Alexander had never been a tenured full professor at a major research university and that the graduation rates at CSULB were lower than those at LSU.

LSU is bottoming out after a legit decline... this is where the restructuring starts. Winning comes from the top down.

Keep the baseball coch. Keep the BBall coach. Everyone else is suspect.

Oh and that gymnastics coach can stay too:

I didn't post it to make you feel better. I posted it to explain how the POLSU is selected.

He will not find another job, so why will he resign voluntarily.

Besides, the BoS would hire another jackass.

Technically that is true that the BOS hires the president. However, I know you have been around here long enough as to not be so naive to think the Governor does not have a strong say in who that person is. The Governor appoints the BOS. And before you say that the majority of board is still Jindal appointees, that doesn’t matter. These people act in their own interest and will bend to the will of who is in power, not the one that got them there.

And no, this is not some conspiracy theory type post. These are the words of a realist who has seen it first hand.

Carville does not have a terminal degree. Faculty wouldn't accept. LSU did that one time before with former BASS Director. He was never accepted by faculty. Need a PhD. JD is a professional but not terminal degree in academia.

I don't believe it. I know way too many people in his circle and none have let on the slightest hint that he's gone.

I’m sure he will be replaced with someone equally as useless. They will probably just promote from within. It’s the LSU way

Just give him a chance!! It doesn’t matter if he’s unqualified. Everyone deserves a chance at LSU.
