Rhule isnt the one you need to worry about...whoever Rhule wants he will get not matter how much money it takes bc his boss/owner of the Panthers is filthy rich and money isnt an issue for him

Rhule is exactly who you have to worry about. We all know the Panthers are willing to shell out cash. And Rhule clearly has latitude with a 7-year $60MM deal.

But Rhule is also 44 years old and a first time NFL head coach. This will most likely not be his last stop and there are already reports that other league owners are upset with the contract Carolina gave him. If he flames out, he may not get another NFL head coaching opportunity.

Looking at it under that lens, it would be surprising if he hires an OC, at a salary above market value, who only has two year experience in the NFL as an offensive assistant and has never been an OC at any level. By NFL standards he’s an extremely unknown commodity. If the Panthers really are willing to spend $2MM/year on a coordinator, they should have options with proven track records as play callers.

It just seems like a stretch for Rhule to put his future in the NFL on the line like that. Anything can happen obviously but I think the smart money would be on Brady being at LSU next year with a huge pay raise. If LSU’s offense is still putting up huge numbers with Brennan next year, I think 2021 is when we really need to worry about losing Brady.

I think the big question surrounding Brady is:

Did Joe Brady make Joe Burrow? Or did Joe Burrow make Joe Brady?

Trying to look at this subjectively, I think Myles Brennan’s season next year tells the entire story of Joe Brady.

My hope is that LSU has sold him on the safety and security of a highly paid contract while they give him the space to develop into a full OC. Thats what I would tell him.

1. We will pay you a lot.
2. NFL jobs...particularly when you have no track record...are VOLATILE.
3. You will be co-oc next year.
4. Full OC in year 3.

If he is smart he will realize its a better job.

I never read anything into an interview. Thinking the tigers have a seven figure offer on the table. Most young guys are looking for an NFL job that does not include “recruiting duties”. They actually get some time off for family. College coaching is a rough road & takes someone with a calling & really dedicated to developing young athletes.

Of the Tigers offer includes an “OC in waiting” clause, with a salary to match, he would have to think long & hard. A few successful years as the LSU OC & he could name his price as an NFL HC. Hoping he is patient & stays awhile.

JOB SECURITY

Joe Brady is tied to Joe Burrow. He is 30 years old and has zero credibility as an NFL OC. If it doesn't go well he will be gone in ONE SEASON.

Just a feeling, I have no insider knowledge, Joe Brady will make Top5 coordinator money at LSU within a month without actually technically being the OC, eventually be the OC at LSU within 1-2 years, and will then become a college HC, maybe even LSU’s coach in waiting after Orgeron depending upon how the next few years go.

JOB SECURITY

It would be a huge risk for both men. A new HC who has never coached an NFL game has to decide if he wants to hire a new OC who has also never had that job at any level much less the NFL.

It could happen but as pointed out above, if it doesnt work then Brady is out, looking for work with a label of failure, he couldnt cut it, Joe Burrow is the only thing that made him good.

Furthermore Rhule is instantly on the hot seat regardless of contract. The questions will be "why didnt you hire someone with experience"

Brady would be wise to build his resume some more, to show he can have success without Joe Burrow, to get that title of OC and do the job well for a couple of years before jumping to the NFL.
