I still couldn't tell from the replay. That was about as much of a tie as it comes.

Of course that's not in any rule book. But if it's a tie the throw didn't beat the runner. So the runner is safe.

this might be classic LSU thinking, but I've felt the ump behind the plate isn't give our pitcher the calls. Just me thought.

It looked like the ump was starting to make the call before either player reached first base.

Ump doesn't get replay and isn't able to slow it down. The call could have gone either way

and the runner must beat the throw to be safe
