I get that. Sorry to be repetitious but we already beat who's second.

In the current system they are still qualified.

They would be throwing our win out the window.

So no more SECCG rematches?

What is your evidence for this, counselor?

Oh jeez. Mention you are a lawyer and then we have to get into a debate. Teams like LSU and Bama would never lose to a team like Iowa State. You know it, I know it. The only team that can beat Bama is LSU. The only team that could possibly beat LSU is Bama. Indeed, it is the utter fear that if we play Bama we just might lose that is driving people to post on this board with all sorts of arguments as to why Bama should not be in the game.

We don't fear Oklahoma State. We don't fear Stanford. We don't fear Virginia Tech. Some of us do fear Bama. And that answers the very question as to who is the most deserving opponent.

Case closed.

Okie state, if they win will have beaten 5 teams, 7 teams with a winning record

Losing to Iowa St. is hard to overlook.

A rematch for the bcs cg hasn't happened before. That's what I meant.

Neither you, nor voters can definitively say that Alabama is better than Ok State

Yeah, we can. Anyone who knows college football can easily say Bama would be a huge favorite in a matchup,

Who would win a play in between OSU and Bama?

Who would win out of LSU vs anyone in the top 10? Already beat 3 of them, and everyone would favor LSU over the rest. Let's not even bother playing the game if this is the way you determine things.

Having watched OSU play this year, I have no doubt OSU could be beaten on any given week by a team like Iowa St. That day they were better.

You would not have said this before the Iowa St. game. Nobody did.

Do you believe Bama is better than LSU?

No.

Should there be rematches in the SECCG?

Your analogy is poor. The SECCG is a playoff between division winners.

A better analogy is that, in your world, LSU should be playing Alabama in the SECCG. Do you support that? Absurd.

It has in the SECCG. You believe it should hold true there as well?

Alabama would mudstomp every single one of those other one loss teams and if you are intellectually honest, you would agree with that.

did you say (like 90% of the media) that alabama would mudstomp lsu before 5nov?

no one knows the future, not even YOU.

They never lost in regulation...

They landed in ames Iowa 45 minutes before kickoff because the team had to go to stuff that morning

They almost pushed the game back to Saturday because of the crash...

Equally, it was on the road, they were undefeated at home

I'm not reading the whole thread to see if this has been mentioned yet but:

as it is now, OSU has 4 wins over top 25 opponents. Oklahoma would be win #5 if they pull it out.

Alabama only has 2, and that's where it's staying.

OSU clearly has the better resume, not to mention they would be the champions of their conference.

You have reading compe issues. Who would you rank first believing LSU would win those games?

Yep, it's done through rankings

Are you making the argument that college football has an objective selection process as proved by the subjective ranking system?

ok.

Totally agree. It's set up to put the best vs the team considered to be the best challenger.

no, it's not setup that way, it's setup to put the top 2 ranked teams together. An undefeated conference champion from the Pac 12, Big 10 or Big 12 would go before a 1-loss SEC team who didn't win their conference division, even if the SEC team would be a favorite if the 2 were matched up.

The winner is the SEC champion, even if they lost the head to head. Its a great analogy, you just dislike it because it goes against your little theories.
