You are using the end result to justify the logic behind the selection. That is illogical. If Ok. State somehow sneaks to #2, it doesn't automatically prove the pro-Alabama crowd wrong.

Most of the yards they give up are catch-up yards...teams throw all game long on them

You are overrating Bama's offense (a tad, I would say B+) and Oklahoma State's defense (I would say D or D-; they are bad). You are also underrating Bama's special teams. Two of the FGs they missed were very long range. 51 and 52 yards. The first one was 44 yards, which a good kicker makes like 80% of the time. But that was the first quarter. It shouldn't have mattered. Indeed, it pissed me off that people would say that Bama would have won if they had a kicker. Bama's special teams in reality is about a solid B.

People with reasoning skills don't equate the BCS system to the NFL objective playoff selection procedure.
I think Alabama is a better team than Oklahoma State. I also think that Oklahoma State should play for the championship over Alabama (assuming that LSU is the opponent).

Did someone ever point out the entire Big 12 plays 9 conference games compared to only the SECCG participants playing 9 conference games.
So the whole idea the Big 12 should be penalized for not having a conference title game is stupid in the case of this year. The SECCG does not include a rematch of two elite conference teams.
