Reviewing LSU's struggle stopping South Carolina's ground game

After reviewing how South Carolina was able to run the ball on us so effectively, I don't think I unearthed some unbelievable finding. Damone Clark is far and away the biggest issue, but he's not the only guy that's been a huge disappointment.
and even with dumbing down the defense, and facing a South Carolina team that doesn't do anything ground breaking, some of the issues we saw vs Mississippi St were still visible Saturday night against South Carolina.

Glenn Logan was out of position on one big run. O was telling him after the play

They had him at DE then, for some astronomically stupid reason. A 320-330 pound DE in a 4-3.
He took like 3-4 snaps there then never saw DE again.
I just cant fathom why they thought it might have been a good idea to do that. I hope Coach O was telling him "Hey our fault there, you wont be playing DE ever again because it was a dumb idea"

Yea i won't argue with that

thats what you call having the play coming to you instead of going make the play

Probably because the other DEs can’t get any push and we’re getting run over by Vandy OL.

He failed to set the edge on their two big runs on their first drive.
People are used to our LBs being the on expected to run everything sown, but you don’t put a 315 DL outside the OT so he can let the Rb go right around him. The TD run Clark will get smoked by the board but he was in his gap.

Good review, would've liked to see some of the plays that we properly defended broken down as well.
What do we with Damone?

I will give him that but Stevens was chasing a receiver for so long he took himself out of the play and once the runner was past Logan and Clark it was clear sailing...
One common thread in all of the plays that guy analyzed. Stevens blew all 4.

Stevens has poor instinct playing back like that. He’s a box safety/LBs (even though that first okay was rough for him)

I'm no expert by any measure, but Logan was out position on one long run. On all the others the LBs disappeared in the mass of humanity on the LOS. I remember my high school D coordinator having a fit if our LB's did this. "Step to stack and tight off the pile."

Haha you forgot Jacoby Stevens who was trash at stopping the run too.

No, he really didn't
Did you even watch the video
Stevens was horrible that game
He called him out on it

Play Stevens at MLB and I'd like to see more of LB's Sampah, Baskerville, and White. Clark is completely lost.
