I know what you mean for sure. And I agree overall our program is better than rushing the field for beating #3. I just think earlier this season we were at the lowest point we've been in 15+ years honestly. So, for that reason I'm good with it.

Perfectly reasonable. But I'll get shat on for telling the truth

This wasn't like being unranked an knocking off number 1.
It was four ranking positions away from that (+2 for OM, -2 for LSU), so pretty close. If that's your standard

It was an unusual set of events that made it ok with me. Everyone was throwing dirt on LSU early this year after getting smoked, Ole Miss was sky high with their best team in forever, and it was saturday night. I guess that makes it all right.

I already addressed that, but whatevs.

Did/Will LSU get fined for it? If so, it should be added to the fees of the students who attended.
Fair enough.

I can't possibly understand how someone in the student section could have been there, with all those emotions and excitement, and thought "eh..this is too embarrassing guys, I'll think I'll just sit here and watch"

wtf is wrong with you people?

I wasn't in the student section, but my immediate reaction was "oh nooooo..." that reaction was shared by several in the very near vicinity...and I shared texts over the next hour with friends who indicated that it was embarrassing.

I'm pretty sure the large majority of people who understand the landscape of college football and LSUs place in it thought the action didn't reflect the accomplishment.

It was a good win by a below average (per LSU's standards) team over a team who was highly ranked but who many believed were going to falter at some point moving forward.

I really wish that picture of Quinn was from a moment that was much bigger. In truth, the moment was manufactured.

GTFO with this nonsense. I watched people from all over the lower bowl go on the field.

Players and students can no longer celebrate?

exactly. the criticism comes from LSU fans who look down their nose at ole miss, even though they are ranked higher than them in the polls this year.

players/students loved being on the field together celebrating a big win with their coach who just lost his mother.

Has it really become that joyless for you now, that something so trivial really bothers or "embarrasses" you?

honestly, yes. LSU football is a miserable experience for some fans. they will complain about people on the field celebrating after knocking off an undefeated good #3 ole miss team

The photo of Trey Quinn crowd surfing sums it up perfectly.

How can any LSU fan look at that pic and not get caught up in the joy of the occasion?

I agree.
The passion and emotion captured by that picture are incredible.
By all accounts, this will have an immensely positive effect on recruiting.
Most fans loved it.
And it did nothing but help propel the momentum of the season in the right direction.
The only people that managed to find a negative with it are our own fans.

agreed. I don't ever want the LSU fanbase to turn into bama fans.

souless with no sense of humor or wanting to have fun.

I assume you meant it wasn't a huge upset. Depending on what you consider a huge upset, a lot of fans probably thought it was.

So if your standard for going onto the field is a huge upset, a lot of fans may have felt justified in doing so.

Weird. Back in my day we just went out drinking to celebrate after a decent win like that.

Yea, GET OFF MY LAWN!

ETA, Of course even a "decent" win was much more relative when I was in school in the early 90s.

I believe I already did. The moment didn't come close to justifying it. This game wasn't a top 10 even in LSU football history...not even close.
