Your point is well taken. Even tailgating today I got the sense there was some PTSD lingering from the BK era.


Give lane time to get this thing really rolling. We’ve now dominated Clemson and A&M already this year. Last year we were in a dogfight with Clemson and A&M embarrassed us.

Oh yeah the Score Board is not a serious place for sure.


But all week the rant (yes I know lol) was filled with threads not just outright blasting Leavitt, but an absurd amount of posters that had absolutely turned on Baker and were even sour on Lane after game 3


It’s totally wild and irrational, but Saban knew exactly what he was talking about when he diagnosed BR with Catastrophe Syndrome.

I don’t know if it’s curable or even treatable, but we have at least finally found a provider that has a plan to manage the symptoms

The LSU fanbase is not remotely fixable.

It long pre-dates the BK era. I can still remember Saban lamenting “catastrophe syndrome” in our fanbase.

We have a lot of “the sky is falling“ pansy fans, as well as the extreme negativity of one portion of our fan base. They are never happy with anything, and even when we do something good, they pick it apart until it stinks. Just insufferable last night on the scoreboard with some of these idiots posting crap.

I find it hard to believe that a lot of that doesn’t seep its way back into the team, and that the coaches are aware of it too. For me, I would be highly pissed if I was putting in that much work and effort to have people do nothing but criticize and be negative about everything and not let it affect my job in some way.

The fan base here, a portion of it, is toxic.

Saban named it appropriately after the 41-9 loss to UF in 2000. The Catastrophe Syndrome. He was referring to the players it applies equally (maybe more so today) to the fan base. It means you are just waiting (and expecting) for the next bad thing to happen.

Real fans, the ones who actually go to the games are more measured…its the internet and tv fans that demand a TD on every drive and 3-and-out on every defense series

These ‘fans’ , mostly what you see on tigerdroppings are in that category and can therefore be ignored

I don’t even understand what trauma there should be. It’s a successful overall football program that like many has its down years. We’ve won quite a few nattys in the 2000’s just not Alabama level quantities but otherwise we are comparably great.
