The LSU coaching staff needs to aggressively pursue A&M recruits.
Time for flips.

Crap. This can only be bad news for LSU. Jimbo was locked in for another few years of mediocrity. I don't want Lane or some other coach with energy and ability in College Station with all that money.

Then again, they always seem to frick it up. Maybe they'll hire Deion.

They about to steal someone’s HC. I offer up Kelly as tribute.

$77 million buyout.

For a mediocre head coach. Absurd.

While the fact that Fisher’s contract is 100% guaranteed is far from A&M-friendly, the way the buyout works would allow the Aggies more flexibility than at first glance. Only 20% of the buyout is due within 60 days of termination, with the remaining balance paid out annually through 2031. That means that if he was fired after this season, A&M would only owe Fisher $19.2 million immediately. They would then pay him $7.2 million annually for the next eight seasons.

If they hire Traylor from UTSA, that will be one dangerous program.

All I’m saying is it’s interesting the timing given Kiffin lost last night as well, effectively ending Ole Miss’s season.

My money is on Mike Elko returning there, he was their DC before Duke hired him

Now that this is getting out, I’ve heard that he negotiated down his buyout so he can continue coaching etc.,

I guess there was a clause in his contract about where he could coach, and that has been negotiated down or removed.

I’m sure kiffin will be on their short list but I think he passed on Auburn because he’s waiting on Alabama. Kiffin would be an odd fit with the a&m weirdness

A&M was always dumping Fisher before Texas and Oklahoma made it to the SEC. I imagine they also making it known now so they can keep their recruiting class together. Smart on their part.
