I don't know if CPM has announced his plans for replacing Cade Doughty in the lineup, but what would you like to see the Tigers look like over the next week or so?

Personally, I would consider moving Dugas to 2B to free up a spot for Drost in LF. The lineup could look something like this:

1 - Tre Morgan - 1B
2 - Zac Arnold - SS
3 - Dylan Crews - RF
4 - Cade Beloso - DH
5 - Gavin Dugas - 2B
6 - Brody Drost - LF
7 - Mitchell Sanford - CF
8 - Jordan Thompson - 3B
9 - Alex Millazo - C

I love Crews in the leadoff spot, but he needs more RBI opportunities and with Cade out, this is a perfect opportunity to experiment with Morgan leading off.

I want to use it to get Travinski some at bats. Put Beloso in LF and Dugas at second with Travinski at DH.

I think Bianco will probably benefit a good bit with some playing time at second as well

Not disagreeing, but who is the odd man out? I'm assuming either Drost or Sanford?

Mascona was quick to try and plug Safford in at 2B which may work but I like the idea of moving Dugas back to the infield to let Drost get some playing time as you have.

I want to see him get more ABs too but I would rather him get them behind the plate while giving Milazzo 1 or 2 games a week off.

I'd expect CPM to put Dugas at 2nd, Drost in CF, and maybe Bianco in LF. I suppose it may also be as good a time as any to see what Beloso can do in LF so maybe he gets a game or two out there. Although if I had it my way I'd be getting Hampton as many ABs in nonconference as possible.

ETA: we only have two more weeks until spring practice. At this point I should probably just give up on Hampton this season.

No chance PM takes Bianco out the lineup.

Sanford is the odd man out.

I still want to give him some time too but I’d rather give the bulk to Travinski

When did Hampton say he was going to be doing spring football this year? I know O has said in the past it was understood that Hampton would be missing a lot of football while playing baseball

My lineup bs RHP with Doughty out:

Morgan 1B
Crews RF
Beloso DH
Dugas LF
Arnold SS
Bianco 2B
Drost CF
Milazzo C
Thompson 3B

Vs LHP:

Morgan 1B
Crews RF
Beloso DH
Dugas LF
Arnold SS
Bianco CF
Safford 2B
Milazzo C
Thompson 3B

I think this is probably pretty close to what we will see but I still think Drost needs to get more opportunities against lefties before conference play.

Why Safford in place of Drost?

I dont know, it was just an assumption. I'd assume that with a new defensive staff and some big time freshman at his position he wouldn't want to miss it if he's serious about football, especially with his lack of PT so far this baseball season. He really probably needs to pick one

They’re both left handed and you would think Drost is likely to see more significant playing time later in the season, getting him ABs against LHP may help down the road.

ETA: Not arguing for or against a platoon, just seems like the other side of it should be a right handed bat. If it’s going to be another freshman lefty I would just leave Drost.

Drost is likely to be more important down the road, I agree. Just wanted to see what Safford can do too. I like the scrappy little guy.
